OK, here's the deal:
You've got a budget of £20,000. You need some speakers. You can buy them from anywhere in the world - new or used. These will be the last speakers you will ever buy. You need to do it now.
What would you get? Show us the advert!

Well I'm loving my current Sonus Faber speakers so much I might as well go straight for a pair of their Il Cremonese. It's a tribute to man like Stradivari so it must sound good. Beautifully finished too. They can be bought for just under 20K second hand. www.sonusfaber.com/en/products/il-cremonese/

I have never heard them But definitely an interesting speaker I Googled them earlier this evening. The 7th hit on the search was this post I made in the early days of TAS about the afternoon I spent with them. They still remain part of the frame of reference for my ideal sounding system. theaudiostandard.net/thread/72/beveridge-loudspeakers

I saw those and would be tempted myself if the Beveridge deal falls through!

The boss asked what did Tony have the was really good when we were listening to Belles amps and the Auram Montans He brought these in Had to have them Not letting them go so I will have to miss out on my free £20k Hifi Shark has some !The plain old E1s, which I prefer the look of, not the E1TX-K

I think I'd like a pair of Quad 2912 electrostatics, with enough left over for a pair of Nick Gorhams new monoblock amps.

No need to buy, like Martin I have my dream speakers already. You folks aren't getting it! The third line of the OP says: This is meant to be fun - it's hypothetical baby!

There aren't any MBL 116f on the used market atm - I'm not playing. I guess maybe I could sweet talk Audio Emotion into letting me have a new pair at a bit of a discount.

At £20k I aready have them 😉 If I needed more, I'd build them again! I might change the mid bass drivers for Vitavox AK 157 15". Actually with that budget new, you would probably get those and the Vitavox S2's for the upper mids, the Raal Tweeters and BMS 2" mid drivers. The cost of having the horns fabricated might put you into the red though..
