This how long to walk or run or exercise off something is nonsense.
We all have different metabolic rates, different body mass (Work Done = Force x Distance).
I suppose if it provokes the slightest raised awareness for some, or flicker of thought before over eating, it might help..

Agreed in spades The problem isn't here, with the exercise you 'need' to do, the problem is back up *there* when you ate that stuff, actually further back when you decided what to eat

After about 4 months on an alternative day fasting regime I'm having increasing difficulty in sticking with it. I've lost getting on for 10kg,so it's been a success. But there's a bit more I'd like to lose. So I thought I'd move on to a different form of fasting diet; 10 hour eating window each day. According to reports it has similar health benefits and weight loss potential. And I get to eat each day, which will hopefully enable me to carry on losing weight. www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/12/191205141731.htm

I know quite a few people who follow a no food after 18:00 regime, and on many days I do as well myself although not rigorously. Mind most of them are on continental Europe (sadly I will soon be able to leave the continental bit out) where they often start work earlier and are home in time to get the evening meal out of the way by 18:00.

Same advice I was given by my Yoga teacher some years back. No way could I see of ever eating before 6pm. Most days then I was still at work

I've had a couple of unwanted side effects during my diet.
Thankfully I have only had one day where I was getting dizzy from time to time - was really a bit unpleasant! Was probably either low blood sugar or dehydration ...
The other more persistent problem is feeling cold a lot indoors when everyone else is warm. Apparently not uncommon as the metabolism slows down and you have less calories producing body heat.

Was one of the most disappointing things I ever experienced. Being offered little mince pies. As a young fella, the great NZ pie was considered a meal. Mince pie, or steak pie, a perfect snack for Christmas. So biting into a Christmas mince pie. I spat it out. Got told off in the process. But really? People like them?

Well, it must have been a big shock if you were expecting a meat pie, no wonder you spat it out, brettj ! You must have thought it had gone rancid. Try one again, but expecting a savoury and spicy fruit pie and you might have a different reaction. They are delicious.

I had to sit down whilst we were out shopping or I think I would have fainted. I also had an overwhelming urge for a Mars bar chocolate - which is not something that would normally occur to me, I haven't had a Mars bar for decades - quickly purchased, that fixed the problem nicely. I suspect a 'sugar crash'.

I shall be cooking Christmas dinner for my mum again this year, and she's insisting on Christmas Pud. She will also insist that I take "the rest of it" home after she's had her taster. There is no hope for me. I love Christmas pud.

I don't think even Mum's 95 years have prepared her for cold soya custard, Mike.

The only way I can eat Xmas pud is to put so much brandy butter on it I can't taste it.
Needless to say I won't be doing that this year!!

I have to say that mincers are one of the joys of Xmas for me. Needs to be a really good quality one though with some really good brandy butter. One is generally never enough ... It's an eating day for me today so I will indulge tonight ...
