Perhaps Oehlbach are shortly bringing out a Mark ii version and want to get rid of what will be dead stock? Just the cynic in me. I thought exactly the same thing when they were "half price" at €99.00. I hear they're only €49.99 now though Yes apparently it is now that price. Perhaps one of us should inform that Julian chap in case he has not heard this news yet?

I don’t need one, but at €49.99 I’m tempted to get one just so I can say I only paid €49.99 for one 😉

All of you 49.99 euro boys will be sorry - when you get your sweaty paws on your firesale 'c' grade customer return mk1's I will have bought all the new stock of pristine new and improved mk2's and you'll all be begging me for one at the unmentionable price I paid for my mk1. So there.

Where are you guys getting your Tinker Board S from? I see this from ScanAnd this from Amazon. Are these the correct boards and are they available elsewhere more cheaply?

Did the seller confirm it's definitely the S version?

He linked to the correct MPN and Edition. Let's see what arrives.

My cheapo Oehlbach arrived today - very fast! I'm amazed by how dinky it is. I wasn't really thinking about trying in the main system, just because there's already enough going on there before the DAC. But it couldn't hurt! It's so dinky I might just hang it off the back of either the streamer or the USB interface with one of these: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/383004263434Saves worrying about another USB cable.

Tell us what you hear with reclocking, Tom.

Will do! Once that adapter arrives I'll have a play. I'll be pleasantly surprised if I hear an improvement, just because the async USB interface already does a good job of keeping the jitters down, and is already being fed a very clean signal from the streamer, but it'll be fun to experiment in any case.

It's in! The shelf looks a right mess now with the extra box and cabling. But it works! At least, there's music playing. The jury is out as to whether it's made a difference, good or bad - if it has, it's subtle. I'll leave it in for a bit and run through a few familiar albums and see what I notice.

I think your interface is pretty good

Before buying another USB cable I am going to have to perform the inevitable experiment of taking my reclocker out of the chain just to check it really is doing something worthwhile ... fingers crossed.

I think your interface is pretty good Yes, perhaps the extra device is overkill. In terms of jitter, I think the interface will have the final say, and - insofar as it's asynchronous - I suspect reclocking higher up the chain won't have much of an affect. But the interface does like a clean signal, so in theory there might be some benefit to regenerating via a device with a clean supply. But actually the StreamBox is chocked full of filters and fed by a good LPSU, and so puts out a pretty clean signal already. Perhaps there's not a lot for the Oehlback to do on this side of things, which is okay - I'm more interested in how it can improve the signal out from my ADC. But I'm not done testing - can't really push the levels at the moment because the neighbours are in all the damn time. Did anyone experiment with alternative PSUs?
