Just got back from Die Seilschaft live in Linden Park, Babelsberg. An excellent concert with a mix of their own material and songs by Gundermann. Babelsberg was in the former DDR and I guess most of the people in the audience have a strong connection with the Gundermann songs especially (and the audience were certainly in good voice during the more iconic ones!). I also picked up their latest CD after the concert which is a live recording of a performance in Berlin in 2018 (and released just a few days ago). The set appears to be very similar to tonight's and I'm looking forward to playing it tomorrow (it is ripped and on the server ready to go - which was tedious as it is one of the few that DBPoweramp failed to find a match for). Also, discussing the name of the group with our friend, it seems there is a certain irony in the choice of the name as the chain / rope / clique meaning had a slightly negative connotation in the DDR and maybe its choice was influenced by Gundermann revealing in public that he had been an 'official' Stasi informant. dieseilschaft.de |

The Bros. Landreth have just put their European tour back until September.
My tickets for the originally booked show in Manchester turned up in the post this week - they're still valid for September.
Canadian Covid restrictions are the cause of the tour postponement.
Still, there's Beck and The Red Hot Chili Peppers to look forward to this Summer.

I've heard, on the grapevine, that the MC duties for the "Platinum Party at the Palace," will be split between holograms of John Peel, and after a special written request - signed by both Her Majesty and Prince Andrew - Jimmy Saville, of whom they were both huge fans.
