Concert queues for beer and the end result, a plastic glass of overpriced cheap swill, are not things I bother with any more.
Mind you, the Bombay gin and tonics we bought at The Anvil at our last concert were perfect.

We saw 17 Hippies at the Lindenpark, Babelsberg last night. They (13 on this occasion) were on fine form and both they and the audience enjoyed themselves. I'd not been to the venue before even though it is only a 20 minute walk from our apartment. It is a nice size and had good acoustics and I'm sure we'll go to other events there. The 17 Hippies are touring and promoting their latest album, "Kirschenzeit" and have a number of dates to play still in Germany and France before ending the tour on New Year's Eve in Berlin. I picked up a CD and an LP of their new album after the concert (a couple of band members joined the staff selling the album and I chatted for a short while with the bass player) and I am playing a ripped version at the moment. 17hippies.de/en

The last week has been a busy one for live music for me, as Mischa and I were helping out with the photography for the Lancaster Music Festival. Between the launch party last Wednesday and late Sunday night, I think we covered about 22 performances and a few buskers and street performers. There were 40 or so venues, ranging from tiny corners in pubs and cafes to big stages and we didn't get to as many as half of them. Great fun but r-e-a-l-l-y tiring!

Yep - Janine Jansen last night and Jinjer tonight, diversity rules. Going to be brutal tonight I reckon.

Better than hearing Janine screaming her lungs out or Jinger trying to pull a pure top C.

Sure was a brutal concert I prefer the songs that mix a more commercial sound with the brutality. Definitely the most brutal music I heard live. Is it the heaviest?

My next gigs are Andrew Combs and Katey Brooks a few days after that, both in Bristol. A tad more sedate I fancy

Me (and the boy) had a great time at Jinjer. Good vibe at the gig, cool venue - Heaven nightclub. Very heavy, but some good moments of light and shade too ... Pretty intense lighting FX at times as well which was kind of fun.
