I understand why you considered it, Mike. I'd probably have felt the same way myself, believing something like that should go to a "good" home.

OFFER: use it or sell it random stuff - mostly for carboot. Some of them are still new or nearly new Please don't ask me for more details... This is a strong indicator that the western world has attained the status of 'Peak Stuff'. When the only purpose of the existence of an item is for it to be exchanged in order to be placed on a makeshift table in a car park on a Sunday morning. Sometimes I despair of some of the people I share this world with, really I do.

We reached Peak stuff the year before last We got there from three areas Old stuff we had for many years and were never going to use. 'Bargins' on Ebay me and the boss could not resist. We should have left maybe 50% for someone else Upgraded hifi I didn't start selling until a few years back I hate throwing stuff away so am very glad to give it away on on Freecycle. Some stuff you cannot even give away so I bit the bullet and went to the dump a few times. Over the past week or so the boss has been digging out stuff the kids left behind. An ultimatum is coming Never been to a car boot sale. Bearing in mind I liberated a couple of great mahogany CD racks from a skip at the dump that's not a bad thing

Freecycle is great and I have supported it for years.
But
I despair of the fact that things are called 'car boot items' as if that were enough, and the guy will not entertain the idea of elaborating further than that.
