Lara Melda gave an utterly compelling performance to win BBC Young Musician competition in 2010, aged 16.
I am thoroughly looking forward to her new Chopin recording which was very well received in Gramophone.

Chouchane Siranossian gave us a stunningly beautiful album of Tartini concertos - not sure this music will be quite in the same league but must be worth a listen. Premieres of three works by German composer Romberg.

Locatelli’s Labirinto Armonico - "Facilis aditus; difficilis exitus." Harmonic Labyrinth - "Easy to enter; difficult to escape!"
Sounds completely sumptuous even on my desktop system!

Mind you, the Chausson Poeme is magnificently done.

This is an excerpt from the forthcoming Augustin Hadelich recording of the Bach Sonatas and Partitas.
An exceptionally talented violinist, but I'm dissapointed. To my ears it has a 19th century romantic lilt to its phrasing, especially with the vibrato. I prefer more austerity.
See what you think.

I'm listening now and it has plenty of Bach austerity and purity to my ears.

I love Midori Seiler's playing in this particular movement. It just has such a serenity and understatement to it.

Hadelich solo Bach movement pre-release. I like it. There are many ways to play these boundless masterpieces.
The movement chosen may well be the slowest and most introverted of the whole set. An interesting choice for the pre-release! It will be interesting to hear how he plays the many much more upbeat movements.
Maybe it will be the first ever 3 CD release of the works!

New recording of The Rite of Spring - supposedly more sensual and less ferocious than most.
