Update

Spent the last day or so playing CDs
Left Rendu and adaptor on

Came to tablet to stream this morning
Saw Rendu, Code 501, won't play
Phone the same
Turned off 2nd router
Rebooted tablet, phone, Rendu at least once
Exited Bubble each time
Code 501. No music.
All this many times over a period of an hour or so


Came back 2-3 hours later and had another go
Fiddled around, not touching settings. Could not get music
Then I did !?
Why ?

Proving that doing the same thing over and over can get you a result.
Next time I will also try pressing harder ....

Further update today with possible answers

My successful play was to search on Banco, add Maya to the playlist, go to playlist, right at the top as I have seen before in this sort of instance and Bingo !

Back to Maya - plays
Other albums - 501
Maya plays
Right proved

Select another album R.L.Burnside, add to playlist, goes to *bottom* of playlist, select, plays
Try other albums again. Nope not happening. Maya still plays.

What does MartinT do differently to speedysteve and moi
He leaves his streaming on, exits from Bubble every time he leaves

I leave my Rendu and adaptor on - but - I had my DAC (TAD D-1000) switched to non DAC duties on CD.
This seems ok with DAC off overnight and no Bubble exits but not for the 24 hours or so

Detective work and not even guaranteed but I live in hope

Why are you adding to playlists rather than just playing?

Do one thing at a time. Leave playlists for the moment.

Perhaps Bubble playlists are a problem?

I only curate Qobuz playlists. If I add to one then I close and restart Bubble to force an update from the playlists.

If I want to play something I played yesterday I go to Recently Played.

Many times I just search and play an album. How can searching for an album every 40 mins be long winded? Takes 20 secs.


I don't know what you're doing to encourage so many issues, just keep KISS in mind as I think you may have adopted complex rituals and need to go back to basics.

I only ever make playlists in Qobuz app too..

I know people here seem to use Android. But just for info, Jplay on iOS allows you to edit Qobuz playlists from the Jplay app. So no switching required.

I believe there was talk of adding to Qobuz playlists coming to Bubble. It's no big deal as I have play.qobuz.com running in one of my browser tabs always.

I have that on my usual android phone.

Another phone or rarely tablet is only used for Bubble etc for music cueing.

mConnect has totally solved the not insignificant problems I was having with controlling Streaming Qobuz to Ultrarendu.

It's totally stable, can handle massive playlists, simpler to set up.
Ends itself tidily when you shut it down.
Easy enough to use.. very easy one you are accustomed to it.
I only really use it on my dedicated music cueing phone as it's in portrait, but that is if little consequence to me, when offset against it working perfectly.

I really can't believe all the hassle that the Bubble Upnp app has caused me since going Ultrarendu!

I appreciate others use Bubble and it's fine.
For me having a reliable fast Upnp app that does what I need with no hassle is how it should always have been.

After more than a week of hitting playlists and albums from the Discover and Qobuzisms section (very nice graphical interface), as well as my huge playlists and current favourites catalogue etc, demoing the system for a long session on Sunday, taking requests, adding tracks, shifting to other playlists over and over,
mConnect has solved all the problems I was having.
I don't have to tiptoe around on eggshells as I was with Bubble, only adding to the queue, clearing it before adding more in hope to avoid it / Rendu inexplicably seizing up.

It's just how the user experience should be.
I'm so glad I tried it again.

It really was that simple!
