Huh? Lewis is on 197 and Valtteri is on 166 points. Oh, I was just quoting what the commentators said.. Didn't keep watching to see the points board.. Always check you sources

Bottas beat Hamilton to pole by 6 thousandths of a second!
The Ferraris and Red Bulls are looking good, too. It's going to be a three-horse race.
Doesn't Silverstone look magnificent? I'm so glad they have renewed their contract for F1 into the future.

Wish I could be there. It's on my bucket list to do an F1 weekend one day. I've only been into F1 since I was a kid / early '70's for crying out loud - lol
LH44 will be looking to take Bottas at the start and Verstappen in 4th next to Leclerc in 3rd on the grid is juicy - a recipe for attack, pass and / or shunt...
Let's see...

Last time I was there I was sat in the seats at Luffield. Excellent view from there and a big screen to help with the rest of the race. Mind you, you can't hear a word of the commentary.

What a tremendous race, full of action. Silverstone does it so well. Who said you can't overtake there?
I think Hamilton would have won it anyway, he would have switched to hard tyres and Bottas still had to stop again. Hamilton had that look of control. It was great seeing Verstappen versus Leclerc and Sainz versus Ricciardo. As for Vettel, is he starting to lose his desire to win?

Yeah, Some great racing, LH just does not ever seem to lose that desire to win, ever, hence what he's achieved / achieves.
Vettel on the other hand has been catalogue of events in the past few years, much of which being driver error in the heat of battle which doesnt bode well.
You could be right in that the desire seems to have gone. I was reading somewhere that he has a very happy home / family life. Maybe like Rosberg he's at that point where he just cant be asked with the demands of F1 anymore.

It was a shame that Lewis didn't get Pole, but for me he was in a completely different league in the race.
Once he got past Bottas assisted by the Safety Car, he was never challenged. Whereas when he was behind, he was crawling all over Bottas.
He would have likely won without the help of the Safety Car because he was just so much faster.
How many other people could pull out the fastest lap on the last lap of the race and on worn tires?

Ocon to replace Grosjean as early as Germany or the race after.
Apparently Steiner is so annoyed by his drivers behavviours at Silverstone that he has requested permission from Gene Haas to fire one of the drivers, with Grosjean being the obvious target.

That is another example of how he is the greatest driver of this generation.

What a shame that the Ferraris once again suffered from bad luck or bad preparation, however you want to see it. They definitely had the fastest cars in all the Free Practices.
However, we have Hamilton versus Verstappen on the front row, a very tasty proposition.
Even better, we also have an Alfa, Haas, McLaren, Racing Point and Renault in the top 10. And with very close times. Things are looking good for a proper mix-up tomorrow.

Topsy turvy GP. Wet really shook things up, as it can do. True performance will be resumed no doubt come dry racing..
ITV4 anchor talking head saying it was the best race he'd seen - come on! Talk about talking up a mediocre excitement level year at every chance.
Max is growing on me.. earning his stripes.
What happened with Alfa? Hammy got 2 points and Kubica 1 point for Williams because of it..

I thought it was a very exciting race. Hamilton looked to have it wrapped up in the first half, and then hit a domino effect when he was changed onto slicks at the wrong time. He ended up plum last when he came in for a new front wing after an accident in the same place as many others, and the team weren't ready for him.
Lots of action everywhere. Stand-outs were Kvyat for his podium and Sainz for just steadily getting it home. Verstappen for great resilience after spinning, Raikkonen for reminding us of his pedigree and a special mention for Vettel for getting a podium after being at the back of the grid and one of very few drivers not to make any mistakes.
Alfa were penalised for a strange measurement which appeared to show they had some kind of assisted launch control in their firmware.

Well that was a strange but very exciting race, wasn't it.
Lewis probably shouldn't have raced to be honest, he had been under the weather for a good few days with Flu like symptoms. I don't know whether anyone else noticed, but in his interviews at the end one of his eyes looked particularly bad.
I follow a few Facebook F1 pages and the amount of people are saying he is now done and that his championship will now go to someone else makes me laugh, he had a single off day and he wasn't feeling well which kind of confirms it anyway.
I agree with Jo Palmer that Vettel's drive was nothing special. Up until the first Safety car and beyond he was very slow, up to a whole second off of the pace of the Mercedes, but to give him his dues, he didn't make any real mistakes, so he did well to get on the podium.
Max did a great race with a lucky recovery from his spin. He definitely deserved the race win and I think he will continue to be threat in the coming years.
Kyvat did amazing and should be recognised for his achievement, superb drive.
Sainz did well too.
Overall a very enjoyable race and hopefully we will see more of that sort of thing in the coming 10 races.

Excellent job Max V and congratulations - first F1 pole. Looks like its all coming together for Red Bull and Honda. The moaning fans who were becoming tired of Mercedes and Hamilton domination can stop complaining now.
Weekends are now looking much more competitive between Merc, Ferrrari, Red Bull and their drivers.
Personally I'm hoping that Hamilton will focus, rise and stick it to those who choose to say his achievements are all down to a good car, rather than appreciate his talent and record.
These are the times to show who's boss and secure legendary status, by winning when not starting from pole and beating the competition / new hot kid(s) on the block.
He said he didnt want to walk it each weekend, wants to race the best. Well, you got it LH-44, go get em !
