I think Trevino is an exceptional talent.

Hilary Hahn playing Barber. Exquisite poise and tone.

Try this for size.
From a forthcoming release of the Unsuk Chin Violin Concerto. She is a South Korean composer of contemporary classical music.
I heard some of her piano music performed yesterday and was captivated by it. A composer to explore further.

Thank the lord for Helene Grimaud's latest!
Last year I had to sit through a remarkably stifled and flat Schumann PC. I needed a recording like this to remind me what a fluid, inspirational and tender work it can be in the right hands. Absolutely sumptuous backing from Camerata Saltzburg.

Made a start on this fine sounding new Mendelssohn symphony cycle by Paavo Järvi.

Mathias: Harp Concerto
As recommended by Dave Hurwitz in his "12 Ridiculously Underplayed Concertos".
Very colourful and impressionistic mid century music by the Welsh composer William Mathias and played by Ann Hobson Pilot from the BSO, not incidentally the first black female principal player in a major symphony orchestra.

A 20 minute single movement work by Unsuk Chin.
Has a mid century feel with a strong movie soundtrack / science fiction vibe - I'm thinking Planet of the Apes etc!

From a forthcoming Simon Rattle / LSO Britten recording, this final movement from Sinfonia da Requiem has a wonderfully airy, ethereal and lustrous quality to it. This is in part due to the tempo, clocking in 34 seconds slower than the Mirga / CBSO recording from 2021.
I look forward to the full album.

Yuja unloading with Philip Glass from her forthcoming Vienna Recital recording. Electrifying.
Her concert at the Festival Hall in June has sold out without even announcing the programme! Can't wait.

And what a glorious opener, the Albeniz, soaring with Iberian colour and energy!
Just too good. What a pianist she is!
Can't wait for her Festival Hall recital, programme is still TBC, LOL.

I will go as far to say that she is at the absolute peak of her powers, I don't know how she can improve really.
