Hmm, Ligeti and Schubert piano works. An interesting mix! I'm rather enjoying it.

This struck me as an odd pairing, but it works.
Beethoven Concerto for violin and orchestra in D major op. 61 Peteris Vasks “Tala gaisma” Concerto for violin and string orchestra
Fanny Clamagirand, violin
English Chamber Orchestra - Ken-David Masur.

I don't know the soloist at all ...

Hmm. This is almost really good. Alexander Manotskov. Never 'eard of him before. Interesting and intriguing but occasionally irritating in a generically avantgarde kind of way. It certainly managed to keep me listening, though.
I'll be coming back for further listens.

Ah, Vasks violin concerto, one of my favourites. And the boring old Beethoven.* Yes, a strange mix. Listening to the Vasks. There are quite a few good recordings of this now. Not sure this one brings anything new, perhaps a bit less atmospheric and intense than some. Still, it's good to have a variety of interpretations available. *

Camillo Schumann (no relation to Robert and Clara, apparently. Cello sonatas. Ardently romantic!

Modern Icelandic orchestral.
Interesting and enjoyable.
And quite a system-tester! (Start with track 2, Big Rig)

An electric Carmen Fantasy from this ravishing album with violinist Ms Akiko Suwanai, who shows a divine mix of technique and musicality, with Ivan Fischer at the podium.

I probably haven't listened to Schubert's Trout quintet in decades. Sampled a few before finding one with a sufficiently light and playful touch. James Levine & Co.

A very enjoyable album of obscure but sprightly baroque cello concerti. Great sq, too.

For oboe fanciers. Yes, I know it looks like an album of string quartets, but it's a cockup and actually contains some rather appealing 20thC oboe music.

Ligeti - Lux Aeterna The title piece is gorgeous, featuring his trademark flexing of exact pitch for each singer. open.qobuz.com/track/3373981

Interesting and effective the way the choral works are interspersed with movements from the solo viola sonata.

A strong and purposeful performance of Chausson's Concert for violin, piano and string quartet on the curiously named IBS Classical label. Clear and powerful sound, too.
Yet more French music that I like, truly the End of Days is upon us. Repent your sins before it is too late.
