Bach played on a ukulele. And why not! Actually it's rather good. It's certainly interesting. Bizarre!

Various – 2001: A Space Odyssey (Music From The Motion Picture Sound Track) I always thought use of the section from Gayaneh depicting the emptiness and vastness of space to be so appropriate as to have been written for the film.

Yes it is although I am not familiar with the whole piece, I will see if I can find a good version on Qobuz. Well I never it is where the Sabre Dance comes from, I will have to listen to the whole piece.

Very accessible and enjoyable symphony and cello concerto by American Frank Ezra Levy, who I confess I had not heard of before

This is just glorious - Chopin specialist Ingrid Fliter with the Schumann.
Very muscular and full-bodied, yet affecting.
Strangely it had been on Spotify for some time but half the music wasn't available.
Fabulously taut support from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra under Antonio Mendez.

An excellent twofer of chamber music by Spanish composer Turina. The piano trios are especially fine.

The best Vivaldi album I've heard in quite a while.
Jordi Savall conducting violin & viola da gamba concerti.

Most of Savall's concept albums are just tedious drivel to my uncomprehending ears, but that Vivaldi album and this B minor Mass are excellent.

Ivry Gitlis, superb in the Mendelssohn violin concerto (and jaw dropping in the Paganini VC1).
He seemed to have a penchant for the more atonal 20th century concerti... Berg, Stravinsky, Bartok, Hindemith. Hmm, I can't say I share his enthusiasm! Shame he didn't seem to be attracted to Shostakovich, in the recording studio anyway, I don't know if he performed the concerti in concert.

Played again, the gentle melancholy of these beautifully sung Armenian songs seems to hit the spot atm.
Followed now by the gentle, slowly evolving silences of Morton Feldman

I bought a CD of beautiful Russian sung music while over there (in Uglich, I seem to remember). If I can fish it out, I may be able to find it on streaming.

Nice one Jerry.
I absolutely adore Ravel and his Piano Trio has long been a great favourite of mine.
The String Quartet in F major would be one to try next.
