Lisitsa doesn't quite have the mind boggling virtuosity of KB, but imo her performances go deeper.

KB tends to suit my preferred repertoire I guess.

What do you think of it, Steve? I thought it pretty good in a minimalist way. Great recording. Don't understand the castanets, though.

Came across this one in a charity shop in Sidmouth this morning. A piece I am not familiar with, perhaps I should be, so far it is rather stunning, full of emotion and passion, I believe the conductor is rather famous as well. Tchaikovsky* – Symphony No 5 In E Minor Opus 64 Label: Stereo Gold Award – MER 204 Format: Vinyl, LP Country: UK

Certainly the boy's most popular symphony, I absolutely love it.

Atmospheric would be a good word to sum this album up I am not sure if it belongs here

Christiane Edinger, quite slow but sublimely beautiful

The cello concerto sounds quite awesome with 1kWpc behind it. My goodness, the brass is recorded nicely.

Playing it with 'only' 200Wpc is enough for me.
Not the greatest music. The cello sounds good, though.

Definitely a Marmite album. I like it. Might be the type of classical that John would like, too.

Happy birthday, Beethoven.
250 years young today.
One of my favourite sets of his violin sonatas, played on authentic instruments, in a very reverberant acoustic.

Bach played on a ukulele. And why not! Actually it's rather good. It's certainly interesting.
