Nice - you can't go wrong with Philips vinyl ...
I have a wonderful Heinz Holliger recording of the Albinoni on Archiv.

If anyone fancies sampling the Albinoni 'digitally', I have found a very decent recording on original instruments.
Anthony Robson's baroque oboe has a wonderfully sinuous tone!

The late Ida Haendel.
What a force - just staggering to be playing at this level when 78 years old.
Technique, strength and character.

Is this 'classical music'? Not by my definition but it may be by others. I don't really care what box it goes in, but I am posting it here as it's more likely to be appreciated by the denizens of these waters than the other 'playing right now' strand.
Shida Shahabi - 'Homes' I think it's rather beautiful. A Swedish-Iranian pianist playing a muted prepared piano, sometimes sparingly accompanied by a little subtle synth playing to colour it all and add atmosphere along with some sparingly effective use of delays. I suppose the pieces might be described as etudes - no buffers here either (or cellos)!

Shostakovich Symphony No. 13, Tsibulko, RNO The sound is superb. The performance doesn't have quite the level of terror that Haitink and Previn get from their orchestral and choral forces, and the pace is faster, but it's a good addition to the catalogue. open.qobuz.com/track/96257286

It was probably a combination of being " down the rabbit hole" on YouTube and doing a quick search and finding that CD going cheap, that's how I find most of my "odd" stuff. I've got quite a few of his albums in one of my lists on Amazon, but there aren't any used copies at a low enough price for the cheapskate that is moi.

Quite a few albums of his on Qobuz, I've been listening to some of his chamber music, very Viennese at times!
He doesn't seem to have been aware that Beethoven was busy rearranging the way music sounded, nonetheless a distinctive and interesting voice.
