Wow. Just... wow! I'm so used to favourite in-your-face Rites that a Rite with depth and space is a new experience.

I can live without the annoyingly trite Waxman Carmen fantasy, but the Shosty VC1 here is very good.

This works amazingly well - Bach's harpsichord concerto BWV 1052, often played on the piano. But here on the organ - with the organ console placed front centre of the platform!

That's a great concerto which I've never heard played on organ. It lacks the percussive power of, say, Perahia on the piano. Nice sound, though.
I love the console placement!

Volume up at 11 This Mahler 6 is another superb Acousence recording. I've added five of the Living Concert series to my Spoti library for when my system is back in full swing. I thought the 'Espana' album looked rather fun.

It requires a brain adjustment, what it loses initially is retained when you realise that you have all that air and space and still have impact. Impressive recordings.

A totally mind blowing Pictures at an Exhibition transcription from the Faure piano quartet on the Berlin Classics label. Total absolute nutters, all of them. So crazy, but hugely enjoyable as well. open.qobuz.com/album/qgcguet9u9wma

Poulenc - Stabat Mater OMG, it's a Harmonia Mundi and it's on Qobuz. One of my most treasured recordings. I'm in heaven! open.qobuz.com/track/41434889

listening to it now ... starts off really well, the first minute or so ... then it increasingly goes to hell in a handbasket

BBC SO, too. It's a very different interpretation of the Stabat Mater. I like both!
