Mine was a very nice upgrade on the previous adaptor Plan is to use the EtherRegen until the Gen 2 is released. At that point will either try the Gen 1 and 2 with optical, or switch the Gen 1 into the modem/router end.

Everything is now here, and ready to inject into my system. Keen to hear what effect this has. I've had some things for awhile, but my system has been down.

And putting in one piece at a time? I haven't been able to be that patient previously...

And putting in one piece at a time? I haven't been able to be that patient previously... Makes sense if time consuming. Verifies the new bit Great to have more revealed from a favourite track

It also checks as you go that you don't have a fault somewhere.

Update - I had problems with my Taiko Extreme connecting to my network recently. Taiko remotely diagnosed the problem as a bad C-Drive. Successfully installed the new C-Drive replacement sent to me from Taiko (Netherlands). Everything working great except I lost my Playlist I had made on Roon. Guess I will have to make another. Here is a quick interior shot of the Extreme before I switched out the C-Drive. Thanks Taiko!

That’s a serious bit of engineering

Fro Are those "pipes" shielding? As mattspl says, there's some serious engineering there!

Passive cooling I would think.

Yes, passive cooling. Also, Ed with Taiko Audio in Paris, remotely installed the newest XDMS Alpha software for my Extreme. He also remotely checked all my software settings to make sure everything is tweaked to my EMM Labs DV2 DA/Preamp.
Have to say XDMS is better than Roon audibly - My system has never sounded this refined and 3Dimensional! Only caveat is that I need a new iPad to accept the new remote software - Mine is probably 10 years old!

Everything here.
Mad Scientist Black Magic Gold USB from Martin. Many thanks. EtherRegen. Innuos Phoenix USB from Jake2. SR Orange for Plixir LPS, and Phoenix. DSE Ixo+ Asus RT-AX86U Pro router FiiO PL50 LPS for modem Furutech NCF FI-33 IEC inlet for PSM156 Innuos Phoenix USB Stack Audio Auva 50 for equipment rack
Pieced everything together over two evenings. Then tried it on Thursday. Nothing. Took out DSE filter. Nothing. One switch. Swapped USB cables. Checked settings on streamer, amp, Dac. Removed Phoenix. Remove second switch. Removed streamer. All nothing.
Bugger, to put it mildly.

Oops! Start from first principles - minimum setup to get sound. Then take it from there, once piece at a time.

Tonight, more time on it.
Tried laptop to Dac via usb. Nothing. Swapped amp fuses. Tried an old Red Wine Audio iMod iPod to amp. Music! Dug out my Halide Bridge, from laptop to Dac. Music again!!
What the hell have I done to usb on the Dac?
A couple of hours later, played with the Dac settings. Ffs. Changed the jitter attenuation mode. Music via USB! How bloody annoying...

Of all people Mike, I knew you'd understand. Was going to bypass USB, put the Audio GD DI-20HE in the chain with I2S to get around the trouble I was experiencing. Will try that once I get the system working with current pieces, and get used to/evaluate the sound. Forgot that John's Gustard A22 Dac has bluetooth capability. As does my Project Stream Box S2 Ultra streamer. I have a couple of bluetooth receivers from daughter's systems somewhere as well. When I hit high frustration, I leave it for a day or two.

We're on the same page Patience is key. Leaving it is good. Solutions can come into your head too. Step at a time
