Got around to setting up the new tablet I bought in March; Lenovo P11. Pretty straight forward (even idiot proof).
Downloaded the Project app. It's not as bad on the tablet. Qobuz playing through it.
May rethink setting up Roon. Plenty of time to decide.
Next task is to put my MacBook Pro in the chain, which has all my CDs.

Jordan from Quartz Acoustic, the manufacturer of the QA grounding boxes, informed me that he is about to launch a new version that is 3X the size of the the previous ones and contains some additional materials. It will cost about 8X more though, but is convinced it provides a significant benefit.

I like the QAs a lot, but baulk at the idea of such a large and costly box.

Unobtainium, pixie dust, ground unicorn droppings and a few other magic ingredients 8x is quite a lot Wonder if he would do a sale or return to one of us lot on the basis others would then grab one or two

One could but ask.
I can imagine that if he includes certain of the pyroelectric minerals rather than the more more common ones it would impact price quite significantly.

It is of great benefit for me to take time to look at what I've changed in a year.
Have bought two modded network switches, four ethernet cables, two DC cables, four SR Purple fuses, two Lan isolators, two linear power supplies and fuses, one USB cable, four BR Big Pads, a tablet, a NoNoise Ultra SE power filter, a grounding box, Akiko Audio Fuse Box Pro, Add Powr Electronic Harmonic Signal Resonator, a streamer, Fo.Q tape, two Dacs, had my amp recapped, installed more power outlets for my system, and had phone line terminations changed to RJ45 for my system.
The changes are substantial. I think I'll sit down with a chocolate milk, acknowledge the progress to get to this point, and be happy about them.

I think I'll sit down with a chocolate milk ...I think that's best, then tuck yourself into bed for a good sleep. You can play with your toys in the morning.

Bit of an alternative take on things. Bit surprised no one hasn't thought of it before.
You have a £1,000 system. Mere bagatelle to some here. Anyways, and you want it to sound as good as a £50,000 system., with a budget of say £100. An impossible feat. Perhaps. Perhaps not. What does one do? Well, instead of focusing on the system, why not switch attention to yourself and your perception?
Pop along to a local hypnotherapist, and tell them your plight. Tell them that you want your lowly system to appear to sound as good as one costing 50 times as much. They do the biz on you; you get back home, and have a listen.
WoW! Just listen to those macro and micro dynamics!
Wow! Look at that holographic imaging! Images exist in their own time and space. You can almost touch them!
WoW! Listen to those dynamic contrasts!
WoW! Just feel that grunty bass!
WoW! Just listen to those inky black silences; the noise floor has plummeted to depths unimaginable!
And so you have your £50,000 sounding system! And all for just £100!

This made me smile. I no idea if it would work or for how long it might work.

Would it be safe to try this tweak on your £50,000 system? For that £200,000 system experience? Based on some I've heard, I'll stick with my system.

I'll always remember being underwhelmed by the £250,000 system around the corner
Back home to hear Rega Isis, Belles Pre and Monos into TAD E1s Significantly better A fraction of the price new, let alone what I paid 2nd hand

My cousin has always had nice systems. Way more expensive than mine. His CD player was around £9000.
Had an hour listen to it last year. Not lots of time, and not many CDs I knew. Couldn't put my finger on what, in the short time there. But it was missing something. I like my system more. It delves further into the music.
