Would the description "22 players of mixed ability playing like 22 average players" suit you better? Or would I still, in your opinion, be talking bullshit?

Yes of course it would be nice to see Messi playing at his best but as a team they certainly don't deserve to progress any further. And despite the shortcomings of those players around him, Messi himself has not led by example, especially in the last game where he just wasn't looking to get involved enough and dropping deep when required.

Two of the players in the Argentinian team have Premier League winners medals, and were part of a team that has kicked many Premier League records into touch. Hardly the stuff of "average players", is it?
Moving back to the subject on hand, the issue is one of management and team unity - there's probably little of either, and the responsibility for both is directly down to choices the manager has made. Team unity and belief goes a long way, and those two things have been sadly lacking. Manage a team properly and those two things become self evident.

Second place in group D looks very open now but Argentina will need to thump Nigeria and Iceland must lose to Croatia for Messi and co to have a chance of getting through ...

Anyone watch the second half of Portugal v Iran?
Very entertaining if for all the wrong reasons - amazing that with VAR things can still go so wrong!

The ref was very poor in that game. Ronaldo should of been sent off and no way Iran should of been awarded a penalty.

Argentina managed to pull it off tonight, now that their manager appears to have been given the job of being on the touchline, and having no actual input whatsoever into what the team does.

Of all the Simpsons "moments" I think this one cracked me up the most. It was a real "Did I actually hear that??!!" moment.

Typical of Simpson humour. The kids take it literally. No damage done. The grown ups splutter Will always remember Homer saying "Scuse me while I kiss the sky" Can only think of one place that came from
