So do I. That's why I made a thread about it... after carefully checking that nobody else had done it.

I've had a great afternoon watching the Liverpool F.C. Legends play AC Milan's legends at Anfield. Loads of players who I watched in their prime, back at Anfield to play in a charity game for the LFC Foundation. The ground was sold out and players and guests flew in from as far afield as America, China, and Malaysia, to name three countries that were mentioned in interviews just to be there. Sir Kenny Dalgleish managed the Liverpool side, Steven Gerrard was captain, and he scored the winner for us too. It was (and still is because the interviews etc. are still continuing on Facebook) thoroughly enjoyable. None of the players had lost their competitive edge. In a lot of cases, it seemed their bodies had neglected to inform their brains that they were not quite as fit as they used to be though. Robbie Fowler rolled the years back for our first, Djibril Cisse got out second, and, as I said, Stevie G got the winner. Andrea Pirlo and Giuseppe Pancaro got the goals for AC Milan. Obviously, everybody gave their time and their services for free, and loads of money was raised for the charity. Exactly how much was raised I don't know, but apparently, it's "seven figures."
On April 12th LFC Legends will go to Ireland and will host a special legends game at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, against an Ireland XI team, in aid of "SupportSeán", the Seán Cox appeal. Sean was the Liverpool supporter who was put in a coma by opposition "fans" when Liverpool played Roma in the Champion's League last April.
Earlier this season, during the Premier League fixture against Cardiff City, the club and fans came together to show their support for the appeal with volunteers from LFC and 'Spirit of Shankly' staging a bucket collection at Anfield which was match-funded by LFC Foundation, the club’s official charity, taking the overall total to £59k. The club and first-team players are also supporting the appeal privately.
Seán’s wife, Martina Cox, said: “Seán has been supporting Liverpool all of his life and to have this match in Dublin in his name will be a special day. It’s going to be a very long and slow process for Seán’s recovery and I’d like to thank the overwhelming support Liverpool fans have shown."
Yes, I know it's "bloody football" but I think it's important to show the positive side of the game because you can be sure that it won't be on the telly, or in the newspapers. I only post about Liverpool, the team I support, but there are clubs all over the country in all of the divisions doing the same sort of thing I'm sure.

It's not quite as straight forward as that though.. I heard on Swedish radio that each EU country has 2 years to choose where to adopt summer or winter time! Hope we are part of this and adopt summer time. Scotland can have winter time if they want it

Think I favour summer time all year round, but mostly want one or the other.

We could have a big red bus, with the number of hours we could give back to the NHS emblazoned along the side.

I'll link the article, but the first paragraph probably says all that needs to be said... A suspected rhino poacher has been trampled on by an elephant then eaten by a pride of lions in Kruger National Park, South Africa.SOURCE

Saw that. The less poachers around the better.
If only the market for it would go away

Brilliant! The movie would probably have to be a "15", or maybe even an "18" though. I wonder if the parrot would have a speaking part?

Step in the right direction UK Parliament declares climate change emergencynot quite all the way, but a start "MPs have approved a motion to declare an environment and climate emergency. This proposal, which demonstrates the will of the Commons on the issue but does not legally compel the government to act, was approved without a vote." UK the first it says don't hold your breath for ATrumpica

The problem is that the UK will make precious little difference to global levels.
Unless the USA, China, India and Brazil (at least) join in, nothing much will change.

Tax-dodging puppy farmers targeted in HMRC operationGood for at least two reasons. They are dodging tax big time and need to be done for it. Puppy farming is a horrific business and it looks like they are targeting them for that too 'Big business' Financial Secretary to the Treasury, Mel Stride, said: "It is utterly appalling that anyone would want to treat puppies in such an inhumane way and on such a scale. "It's also deeply unfair to all of the legitimate businesses who do pay the right tax, and the total recovered by the taskforce is equivalent to the annual salaries for more than 200 newly qualified teachers. "We continue to work hard with other government agencies and our partners to tackle these traders." HMRC is also involved in a multi-agency collaboration across the UK and Ireland called Operation Delphin, which is designed to tackle illegal puppy smuggling and its consequences.

I've just seen that on Text, Mike. It's certainly a step in the right direction. Call me a cynic, but I'm guessing that there is some sort of "seizure" component involved though, so the police/government/somebody stands to make a few bob off of it.
