The next meeting will be in May (date TBA) and either Saturday or Sunday.
Venue is my shop in Huddersfield. 9 Brook Street, HD1 1EB
It will be another phono stage comparison as this seems to be a hot subject currently and worthy of another battle.
Any interested people can PM or post on here as to if they can attend and what if anything they can bring with them for the comparison.

Will it have the sophistication of a Leeds event?:
Warning: Rather strong content here:

There's a possibility of Barnsley Cocktails in the pub around the corner afterwards

The next meeting will be Saturday 26.05.18.
Starts at 11.00am till late, anyone who wants to stop over there are plenty of B+B's, premier inn and travel lodge nearby.
Comparison of phono stages primarily, please feel free to bring one or any other kit you think may bring joy and fun to the meeting.
Everyone welcome.

Just wanted to check Saturday 10am is still on David, and is the phono stage comparison going to happen at a certain time?

People will roll in from 10-11 am then maybe 30 mins chatting (based on the last one)
Then we start with the cheapest stage and listen to 3 tracks with each one

Have you any idea about content of future meets, David? Rather than a bake-off as such, I'd be really interested in a day or part day hearing what mains cables, fuses, supports and room treatments can bring. I would likely be able to attend something in July/August but not sure how I will be fixed beyond that.

Just got back from today's phono stage fest! Many thanks to DB for his hospitality and putting together such a great range of gear for us to enjoy.
I made plenty of notes and took a fair number of photos but am in Manchester for a few days and most likely won't be able to post these till I get back to London later in the week.

I was there - I dropped a subtle hint, by wearing my Jimi Hendrix T-shirt (Strat Mangler par excellence). I'll wait to see what Jules' thoughts are, and see if we broadly agree.
Thanks for hosting and organising things David - it was a good do. I was very impressed with your new amp too - it just gets out of the way and makes thing louder, which is how things should be. Works very well with your field coil speakers too, because there's so little tonal signature. Those field coil speakers are very unforgiving of kit upstream, and at the SPLs needed in the MCRU Bunker you need a quick, quiet and powerful amp

Thanks to mr b for an excellent day, wish I could have stayed to hear Collin's speakers. 9 hours of phonostages, yello, Patti griffin, Stevie ray Vaughan, nils Lofgren, Maria callas, roger waters, john lee Booker, Stevie nicks and several others.
Loads of great phonostages to listen to and a sweet demo room.
On first inspection I couldn't beyond those bloody loudspeakers. Massive, foreboding, dark monoliths. Peaky, holly, brash. After a couple of hours you settle into them and their strengths come to the fore. Effortless scale, huge dynamics and able to fill every corner of that large demo room with sound.
Dom from NWA, not the rap group, had provided deck and cart. I've had no previous exposure to his carts but that MC was singing sweetly, right up there in the multi thousand pound bracket.
Stages started at around one hundred quid with the 640p and stepped on up in price and back and forth through the years and commercial and diy offerings until we peaked in price with Nick/MFA's 10k setup.
For me the money find of the day was All Taits Modwright, bought second hand for 500 quid. What a steal that was.
Great day, good guys and gal and I'm looking forward to the next Yorkshire hifi club day, whatever the topic may be.

I can only second the thanks expressed by others - an excellent meet - many thanks Dave for letting me attend - I really enjoyed it - fun and informative . I have done quite a lengthy write up of the whole event (with pictures).

Didn't realise you were there Strat! Hopefully see you there another time. It's a long way from London but I would definitely like to attend a future meeting.

I overheard Colin inviting you over to his gaff, and he's just down the road from me - give me a shout as and when you take him up on it. If I can organise things to be there I'll be there too.
