"That is why I am blocked / banned on the commercial forums, and the semi commercial ones who hide it. Even though in terms of business and turnover I am a flea biting the surface of the industry, they are scared stiff of me and want to censor me out of business. So I rely on you lot for promotion, I am blocked all other ways." I am guessing you are talking about RD? I am not going to look there for this quote. I couldn't give a rats' arse what he thinks about anything. He has been blocked or banned everywhere because he is rude and aggressive and makes members leave. Oh, and please don't quote anything else from that place. if anyone wants to read that material they should just go there, we don't want it reproduced here.

No it is not, it is a perfect analogy but just not fitting with your agenda. Also given what you are saying, why does something that cost £30,000 make it more worthy of negotiation on price than something that costs £130, utter nonsense. Agenda? Really!! (secure your tin foil hat young man) I'll repeat.... I was talking about low cost items cables etc. Also given what you are saying, why does something that cost £30,000 make it more worthy of negotiation on price than something that costs £130, utter nonsense.
Sorry but this is just laughable errrr because if you get a 10% discount the difference is about £3k in your favour. Again we disagree, it should make no difference whatsoever. Therefore the analogy still stands.

No problem Martin, I was merely curious about members consideration on this point of definition, being that for my part I have never been approached in any way to promote on a forum any HFi related item of equipment or accessory, including my fuse purchases, which incidentally were all acquired via EBay at the buy it now price as listed, I cannot say that I am bothered about a few quids discount on an £130 purchase as I cannot be arsed.

BIN or Make an Offer on Ebay.
I never used to Make Offers. Now I do and I am often surprised at what is acceptable to the supplier. Work out what you will pay and offer less - you never know.
You can always do the same with a hifi supplier ....
This is real money keep some of it in your pocket.

You can always do the same with a hifi supplier .... Exactly, and negotiating a price has nothing to do with shilling!

I doubt very much whether any money has changed hands. There is of course the non-financial benefit of being perceived as a 'guru' whose advice people follow. (I never recommend anything, in case someone follows my advice and buys something they hate).

The word in the trade is " Influencer " (Google it) they get paid and are difficult to spot, I met one at the Bristol Show. Nothing wrong with it though. If you are a VIP and love a product then it's a win-win !
