I'm curious as to what you've used, have currently and would recommend.
It's likely that I will be buying something to put my kit on and also looking for some decent speaker stands in a few months time. I'm as interested in the aesthetics as the performance.

Mana racks for many years then swapped to Creaktiv
Spikes everywhere on racks and speaker stands. Speakers now on wobbly Townshend stands as so much better than spikes to my ears

I have a quadraspire reference wobbly rack but don't use it any more. Trying to get away from racks if possible. Sometimes domestic harmony requires one though.
Building my hifi into a sideboard when I have finished messing about with it.

Solid Tech here, but reworked for RDC Cones. I am no longer a lover of spikes but like absorbent decoupling.

HNE units (3 of them) with thick black granite shelves and Beech wood legs. The 3 power amps are on an old SO table tucked (mostly out of site).

Building my hifi into a sideboard when I have finished messing about with it. I didn't know Quadraspire did any racks that were "wobbly". I will have to take a closer look. I don't really care for the aesthetics but there may be more to them than I figured. too many racks are either ugly, badly made or have too little space. I had one of these and sold it when I moved once. I'd like another. www.klangstarkhifi.de/Target-HiFi-S770i quite fancy the "Something Solid" stands but I have no idea if they are any good. So many speaker stands these days look cheap and nasty to me.

I have a big modular Atacama Equinox. It's very sturdy and well made but not a work of art to look at. Was a bargain at the price I got it for though.
At some point I would love to get a custom wooden stand made!

Sorry to disappoint Steve! I am also mortified to notice how I spelled sight (s-i-t-e).

We live and learn. I had no idea Something Solid made racks too. I will take a look. In the meantime, if anyone sees anyone selling 24"SS stands, could you maybe give me a shout please?

Thanks, Jules. Very much appreciated. Unfortunately they are asking too much and won't post. The XF range usually seem to sell for £80-100 a pair used. That's more like what I'm expecting to pay. I actually missed a pair for £50 on eBay. Somebody got there a few seconds ahead of me. I'm in no rush as I won't be using them for a few months, so I will keep an eye out for some.
I just took a look at the Something Solid racks and they just didn't appeal to me visually. The stands are so sleek yet the racks look too industrial. I might end up getting something made from acrylic.

Standard, nothing special 3 tier glass stand with an Atacama soundstage under my amp. Atacama SE24 stands which have been a long time favourite of mine. They're well made, heavy, fill easily and simply work.
I thought you had the "right" stands for the ANKs Spica or did you move them on when other speakers popped up?

I used the Huygens stands with the Spicas for a while after I sold the AN-Ks but I somehow ended up letting them go. Probably cleared some space when moving, which I have done far too much of. Not sure why i did that because they were brilliant and beautiful. The Huygens stands for the Snell Js I owned were even nicer. So hard to get hold of too. If I ever stay put in one location long enough, I will be able to finally hang onto the rarer bits that come my way.

I liked the simple Something Solid racks but for domestic harmony, changed to a heavy and quite solid 'ARCA' cherry veneered cupboard for the downstairs stuff and with the Dual 701 sitting on top. It's so inert I can pound the top and nothing gets through to the stylus. In the workroom, I use some old cheap Soundstyle racks both bought for twenty quid each or thereabouts. They do the job...
Something Solid do an interesting rack (XR described on the Deco Audio site) where balsa shelves sit on a form of 'suspension' made from pre-tensioned sail-line (I think it is). I used these when I was working in Northampton and some gear we had really did seem to benefit from using it - early Arcam FMJ was a notable one for some reason.. Prices always reasonable and custom spacings used to be an option too when ordering.
Some of the gear I now use has remote power supplies and Perspex casings. No issue at all with the line level items that I can hear, but obviously the BMU and phono stage power supplies need to be sited remotely and NOT in the rack.
