My dalliance with Tofu is over I think. I'd much rather use sliced courgette or other veg, even mushrooms, as a substitute for meat in a stir-fry type dish, or just say " to Hell with it" and throw some prawns at the wok. I couldnt get the idea of eating those erasers we used to get on the nd of pencils when eating Tofu. And the smoked Tofu? Smoked pencil erasers.

Maybe a change in public attitude - based on a detailed survey of one
Next door neighbour's daughter has gone vegan Quote from dad "I need to have meat a few days a week" Change from what I heard from so many in the past "I must have meat every day / meal"
Seems to have become a big thing for a lot to ward off climate change rather than animal welfare reasons

Finished my 'always the same' lunch today finding it even better than normal. Wonderful No idea why
I nibble while preparing and also find Green grape, avocado and red pepper a very good combo
In the oven goes tomato, courgette, red onion, sauerkraut, spinach, almonds, brazils in olive oil Add Chia, Poppy and Tesco's 4 seed mix, celery A chunky piece of toasted, home made bread
Every day the same and highly enjoyable

These are quite nice, and very versatile Mike. I've taken to having a slice with cold meals/salads. 250g, and they're vegan friendly. These are nice too, but only vegetarian I'm afraid. 250g Vegetarian, bigger at 500g, and I haven't tried them yet...

I thought Spanish Omelette = potato omelette? Never heard of a spinach one. If I remember rightly, a " proper" Spanish Omelette should have Parsley in, as well as eggs, potato, and onion. In reality, you can toss what you like in. I love them with a good selection of diced veg and peppers. That's the way they were served up in the Italian restaurant in Leadenhall Market, which we used a lot at lunchtime. Thinking back, lunchtimes with BT (or the Post Office as it was then) were quite adventurous, we learned about Dolmades, and Schnitzel, various types of kebab (Shish, Kofta, Doner) Spanish Omelettes, "Proper" Indian food, in restaurants that our Indian teammates took us to, pasta dishes that weren't spaghetti from a tin, and this was mid-seventies/early eighties when most of the population still thought "Chicken-in-a-Basket" was adventurous, and as for cheese and pineapple, on the SAME cocktail stick, well, that was downright exotic.

I had a dollop of this with my meal tonight. "Cooked Potatoes, Spring Onion, Chives and Parsley in a Vegan Garlic Aioli Dressing Topped with Capers, Gherkins and Red Onion." It's not as impressive as all that sounds, but it was quite decent, and vegan-friendly.

WTF?
Product Name: Mighty Milkology Whole Dairy Free Oat Milk Alternative 1L
Ingredients: Water, Sunflower Oil, Pea Protein Isolate (2.5%), Grape Juice Concentrate, Fermented Oats, Calcium Carbonate, Natural Flavourings, Stabiliser (Gellan Gum), Sea Salt, Iodine, Vitamins (B12, D)
Blurb: MIGHTY M.LKOLOGY was created to be the most realistic plant based milk on the market! Its our new product development that produces a hyper-realistic m.lk that tastes and feels like dairy milk. Thereby making M.LKOLOGY the easy way to switch over to a dairy alternative.
I think it's suffering from a split (pea) personality.
I've ordered one for next week.

🤣 milk'ology
"Natural Flavourings" - could be sugar! Unless it says 0 sugar.
The way Oatley (Milkley) for example get 'sweet baby cow milk sweetness taste' is super processed and probably super unhealthy.

The way Oatley (Milkley) for example get 'sweet baby cow milk sweetness taste' is super processed and probably super unhealthy. Per 100ml: Carbohydrate 1.9g - of which Sugars 1.9g, which is pretty good, otherwise I wouldn't have ordered it. What's really confusing is how it's described as "Whole Dairy Free Oat Milk Alternative," which I originally took to mean it was oat based, especially as there are oats in the ingredients, but in the small print it says " UHT pea protein based drink with added vitamins and calcium."
