Before the advent of the internet, we used to have things called "fax machines" and they often got (mis)used to send cartoons around the business, which in my case was The Post Office/British Telecom/BT. I drew a more than several of those cartoons and always signed them with a nickname plus the last two digits of the current year. I suppose it might be seen as only a matter of time, but I was still surprised when one of those cartoons was shown to me by a friend, who had no connection whatsoever to BT, and had had it sent to him at work as an email attachment, seventeen years after I'd drawn it. He showed it to me because he thought I'd appreciate the humour and had no clue that I'd drawn it. This thread is worthless without hand drawn 17 year old cartoons signed by Sam96

I'm wondering if I might have a copy in an old folder somewhere though...

Pilates we had Queen playing - again ! They don't get better
Taking an hour of Queen without respite I began to hear another influence By the end of the hour I knew who it was
Todd Rundgren
Who came first ? Wikipedia shows me Todd.
Did Queen know they were borrowing so heavily from Mr. Rundgren or is is just a coincidence ?

We get mostly repetitive soothing Indian influenced music in Yoga.
Mind you we did get the Gipsy Kings once.

If you listen to some Queen vocals you can hear Uriah Heep

My wonderful, super duper TAD CD/Pre/DAC has a remote control I bet you're not surprised
My lovely and very old Pioneer PD-S703 CD also has a remote control
Both remotes work fine on either
Not such a surprise ? My Pioneer PDR-04 is very similar to the PD-703, both stable platter but does not respond to either remote, neither does the PDR-04 remote work on the first two

It's not surprising that TAD responds to Pioneer codes.

My Pioneer PDR-04 is very similar to the PD-703, both stable platter but does not respond to either remote, neither does the PDR-04 remote work on the first two The R in PDR stands for recorder. IIRC you had to use "music CDR" discs, which were a damn sight more expensive that CD-Rs, so it makes sense to make the device respond to its own individual remote control.

I know TAD is part of Pioneer and the PDR-04 is a recorder.
What surprises me is the difference in age between the PD-S703 and the D-1000, 30 years ? Also surprised the PDR-04 could doesn't share any remote codes with the PD-S703.
As an aside my old Panasonic CRT TV remote makes the Panasonic Plasma do a few things, not all

Morning around 8.30am walking the dogs I looked out over a large, mown field of grass, line of large oak trees in the distance, 100-200 yards away, blue sky with white and grey clouds. Stopped for the magnificent sight of white birds, seagulls I assume, wheeling and careering in the sky with the sun peeking through the clouds directly onto just them - they looked florescent. The background emphasised their brightness. Surreal.
Stood and watched for a minute or two. Would have stayed longer but they were gone. Then the sun went in
Wonderful coincidence to have caught the moment. A memory I treasure
A photo would have gone some way to show what I saw, must carry camera, but a video capturing the patterns would have been much, much better.

Aha OK thanks Mike. I had no idea there was a link I access web and social media exclusively through smartphone. It only appeared as text to me, but I went and clicked it now. Christ the amount of links here I must have missed, thinking they were just text.
