On holiday we were working out where we were going on a daily basis, driving around the continent. Great fun.
Worked our way down to the South of France and had a look at San Tropez. Walking along in the harbour looking at the posh boats and people. Coming the other way 2 of the trainers I worked with at Rank Xerox. We were all rather surprised

Looking for a new vet.
Two obvious candidates. No.1 I have used before years ago when we took over old Ben an American beagle from a friend of a friend who died. Liked them. Vet I saw was very pleasant, good, a pro.
No.2 One recommendation and we had been there before to pick up our runner, Lucy. Seemed like good people.
Rang them both and asked for prices for common items as our current vet was eye wateringly expensive. No.2 had it on the phone manner and on the price. So we went there with our latest rescue. Just the one as a try out. Impressive. Had the feeling I knew the vet from somewhere. Seemed crass to mention it and my reputation for being eccentric doesn't need padding. One visit I spoke to a nurses and asked where might I know the vet from....
Guessed yet ?
She was the same vet I saw at No.1 before she started her own practice.

Tesco deliver our weekly shop. After being against it to start I reckon it saves money and time. Sunday I went in to check items on the order. Problem : There is no order, for today. Technology has got in the way of life. All ok I'll set one up - usual slot 12-1pm not available. Ok, they usually come early, often half an hour so 1-2pm should be fine. I like my food and most of the grub for usual start time of around 12.30 is on the delivery. Arrives at 10 to 2, within the slot promised but I am rather hungry. The I realise I'm not over the hour change so my lovely body is seeing the time an hour later. Even next week would be a lot better than this I'll probably live

Gosh, I'm diabetic and I don't allow food to rule my life like that!

I get hungry ! Have grub at the same times as one of the many changes I brought in to stop migraines. One, some or all of them worked. No migraines for many years. Plus I like food

Gosh, what are the chances of that, then?

Had forgotten the hour change until my stomach reminded me

Using my favourite line in the vet today.
"Do I know you ?"
to one of the nurses
Yes. She used to work at our old vet. She looked around for another job and this practice was the one everyone said was good - from the staffing side.
Impressed again today by the thoroughness of the vet I saw with the two new boys

I had a similar thing happen the other day. I walked into my new pharmacy following changing GP and a lady I used to speak to at the previous pharmacy was there, so I said hello

We bought a 2nd home in the Welsh hills. It came with a telephone line and number. The number is the same as our Gloucestershire number except that 3 of the 11 digits are different and all three of those become 7 for our new '2nd phone'. That strikes me as a weird and spooky kind of coincidence.

Picking up an Ebay item I thought I recognised the road next to collection address in Farnborough, some miles from home.
On the way out I realised this is the road I picked up my first ever piece of 'hifi' a Stuzzi tape recorder from small ads in the local paper. The journey started there ! 1966 if I remember right. Ooooh ......

Before the advent of the internet, we used to have things called "fax machines" and they often got (mis)used to send cartoons around the business, which in my case was The Post Office/British Telecom/BT. I drew a more than several of those cartoons and always signed them with a nickname plus the last two digits of the current year. I suppose it might be seen as only a matter of time, but I was still surprised when one of those cartoons was shown to me by a friend, who had no connection whatsoever to BT, and had had it sent to him at work as an email attachment, seventeen years after I'd drawn it. He showed it to me because he thought I'd appreciate the humour and had no clue that I'd drawn it.

LOL - did you tell him you'd drawn it, Paul?

LOL - did you tell him you'd drawn it, Paul? Absolutely. We had a better laugh over that than the cartoon I think.

Would that nickname start with an 'S', perchance?

Would that nickname start with an 'S', perchance? It would, but not the one you're thinking of. My "cartoon" name was ' Sam' followed by the last two digits of the year. So, Sam96 in this case, if memory serves.
