I'm afraid I too like Neville Mariners - but I suspect that's because it was the first version I had. I think as we have mentioned before this is an influence. Then please vote for it! Am I being really thick? I can see three options to vote for and none of them are NM and the Acadamy of St Martin in the Fields. Is this another Firefox glitch?

The middle one sure is on my screen, Tried it in Safari, Camino, Firefox, Chrome and Omniweb. they all draw it the same Tried hard to listen to the Kennedy proms thingie but it just didn't draw me in at all. Not sure if its my general view of our Nige as just another technically talented player who I don't consider a great musician or what (didn't much care for his teacher either). I found some of his orchestra to be terrific, the cellist, bassman and the young violinist particularly.

More worryingly, the Spotify links have gone mad!

My favourite "proper" version is the Mariner/St Martin In The Fields recording from 1970 on Argo (ZRG654) That's one of the versions here, Shane. So it is! Not concentrating today.

Yeah yeah - got it now - blond moment
Like Gordon I struggle with NK. Every time. It's not visual either - you can hear the haircut

All has been restored now and the Spotify links are playable.
For anyone who doesn't have one, a Spotify account is free (at the lowest level) and you can use either downloadable apps or a browser page to play them. Most devices support Spotify in one way or another and, if you're into music, it is a must-have application.

I prefer C Hogwood esq - but as Sparf is nearest to that, that's the way I voted.

The record you are trying to sell our members is not one of those that this thread is about.
Stick to the script please.
Vivaldi - Le Quattro Stagioni , Giuliano Carmignola
le quattro stagioni translates into english as the four seasons funny a italian record in italian not english on the cover
anyway just popping out for a four seasons pizza with spam on top

I've just started watching the kennedy 4 seasons at the proms. Do it properly later but I think I can safely say its not quintessentially English pastoral. Verdict on the first movement - interesting In fact the verdict on the whole thing was interesting.10/10 for effort......4/10 for effect

Scott, what are you up to? If you are going to post other versions then please state why, and what you like about them? This is starting to look like another spam-fest.
It's intriguing that you haven't even voted yet.

Already had two 'out of poll' votes on this thread. Still my favourite version by far

If only someone would remove Nigel Kennedy's vocal chords, I would be able to appreciate his performances properly.

What about the Academy of ancient music version by Christopher Hogwood ?
Yes, that's a good one and I have it. I have about 10 different versions!

With your depth of knowledge, you might want to post a three-way with a selected piece of music. The research is half the fun!
