There have been many items I've loved over the years. Some I still wish I owned just for the sake of having them. I guess you could say I'm still emotionally attached to them. I'd probably need a mansion to keep them in, so it's not really practical.
is there any piece of kit you have let go, or even still have, which you have an emotional attachment to? What is it about them that attracts you?

Yes, my Epos ES14 Loudspeakers, I think it’s because they’d been in the family for about 20 odd, having being own by my Dad before me, I was sad to see them go.

Nothing I owned in the past sounds as good as what I have now. If there was anything I bought which I wish I still had from a design point of view it would be the Michell Syncro turntable.

I'm pretty attached to my forever stuff now. The valve amps because they've ibeen fettled and are therefore unique. My ANKs simply because they're exactly what I like - fast, musical and accurate. Lovely things them. Horns simply due to the way they work well with all my amps. Different characteristics with each. My AR07 I like as well - S/S and plenty of power. Can't ask for more. The other thing I really, really like is the synergy in my systems. That's taken forever to achieve and can't be bought.

Some things I'm still attached to are popping up: Linn Kan and Sara will always be dear to me, as will ten Isobariks. ES14s were an early long-time love. Oh, and the Formula IV was a gorgeous thing to look at, use and listen to.

In fit of annoyance over the non delivery of a Garrard 501 many years ago, Imsold my 401 and regretted it straight away. It was totally serviced and had the prototype of the 501 aero flux motor bearing. It had also been sprayed in 301 cream and was in a burgundy and ash plinth. Still I now have two 401s so the journey begins again. I don’t think they will top my Composer Solo, but it will be fun to find out.

Yeah I must admit I struggle with most of the newer stuff: Unless it's built and styled like the older kit. Even then, it often tends to be soul-less. Plenty of genuine older kit out there anyway, which is why so many of us buy used.

Yeah, the Leben amps are lovely. Apart from the Modern black plastic power switches they looked great in a vintage rig..

Right now, the bits I'm still attached to (in no particular order) are: Naim SBL, Naim IBL, Naim CDI, Naim Chrome bumper amps, Linn Kan, Sara and Isobarik, Roksan Xerxes, Copland CDA 266, Arion Elektra, Perreaux SM2, Krell KSA 50, Exposure 3 and 4, Aragon 4004, Bryston 4b, Spica TC 50 and Angelus, Snell J and K, Townshend Glastonbury, Audion Sterling mk1, Epos ES14, Myst Tma3, Sonneteer Campion and Byron, Mayware Formula IV, Cyrus One and Two (plastic cases), McIntosh MA 5800, Neat Petite, Schiit Asgard, Impulse H6. Probably lots more but that'll do for now
