I'm not getting at the Moderating - personally I think if yer going to join forums you have to expect not to like everyone you meet or everything they say but you have to respect their right to say it . I can see the weakness in my point though. Rather you lot than me! No problem here at all but I do like the look of those bar things though and I also like the idea of a big boys section where we can swear and tell inappropriate jokes and the like. Needless to say an oil rig is not the most PC of places....

You'd be surprised at the level of brains out here mate! Plenty posh dudes with brains. It's an interesting mix - my personal background is horrendous  - and mixing with these guys really can produce interesting results. Utterly hilarious at times,especially with REALLY bad taste jokes. Complete clash of worlds. |

Apart from this thread, TAS seems spot on for moderation. This thread seems to be a moderators nightmare.
If it were my forum, I'd ban politics, religion and anybody who started arguing like we have all experienced at play school.
If someone breaks the rules, or continues the same behaviour after being warned, ban them for a week, then a month, then a year.
You really don't need this kind of argument going on when the forum is supposed to be all about a common interest of enjoyment of music produced by HiFi systems.
Life is too short.

personally I think if yer going to join forums you have to expect not to like everyone you meet. I tend not to have that view. I expect to see friction between others maybe, but don't expect it myself and have never had an 'axe to grind' with any member of a forum. If I sensed something heading in an uncomfortable direction, I'd be inclined to terminate my response. |

Reading through various threads this evening, it appears, and I may be wrong, that there is a small group that seem to be acting together ,intent on discord and deliberately disrupting the forum. Despite this appalling behaviour by some, the moderation to date has been undertaken in very calm and professional way and my admiration goes out to the mods for keeping a cool head.
