Well done, Martin. How will you go about selling your 2017? Thanks, Nick. I seem to have a couple of people interested already, so will sell through FB if I can. I could also ask Torque GT to list and sell it for me.

The Skyline and later GT-R are awesome cars, Mike. Last of the big Japanese bruisers.

Back in 2012 I was driving in MA expecting to take an exit to Lawrence MA but not the very next exit that was coming.
Then, two souped up Nissan Skylines passed me with Florida license plates. The sound of these two vehicles (I think they came from a car show) caused me to take the next exit to follow them through Lawrence and get to where I was going the long way.
It was the best I've ever heard a car sound and not in any sort of powerful muscle car way. It was something else not sure what.

The Japanese muscle car sound is distinctive and different from the American muscle sound. They tend to be straight sixes with one or two turbos. Tight, precise engines with mechanical harmony.

Lovely car, Mike, and the price reflects their extreme desirability.

Just for fun, this 'Anime' is what the Japanese car community love creating for showing off their 'sporting' brands such as STi (Subaru Tecnica International), GR (Toyota's Gazoo Racing), Nismo (Nissan Motorsports), Honda Type R and Lexus F. This one is for the car I have bought, including the STi features. Initial D is what started it all. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Initial_DEDIT: I hasten to add, mine doesn't come with the oversized rear wing!

Thank god it has no ghastly wing! I wouldn't have bought it with one! Thinking about the options: full STi aero kit plus some other bits like the engine bay v-brace; Fujitsubo exhaust; Alpine head unit. Worth about £6k. Then 18" gunmetal alloy wheels, ultra-suede + leather seats, seat warmers within the 'S' spec. I do believe I was very lucky to get this rather rare spec, especially in manual transmission.

My parts shopping for the new BRZ has already started. Before anyone says "but why don't you just drive it stock", this is what you are supposed to do with Japanese tuner cars (and it's fun)! So, in the spirit of continuing the STi vibe (it already has the full STi aero kit), I have the following on order or already arrived:
- Brembo STi front & rear big brake kit with slotted rotors - STi lowering suspension springs - Cobb 97RON engine tuning EcuteK flash kit - Archoil AR9200 v2 nano friction modifier - Mishimoto magnetic sump plug - K&N air filter - Japspeed 15mm wheel spacers - Bonnet gas struts
To fit on arrival... - Goodyear F1 A6 225/40 18" 92Y XL tyres
The car will be given an oil change by the importer but I'll leave it for 1,000 miles or so before putting my favoured LiquiMoly 5W 30 oil in.
I'm going to leave it naturally aspirated to get a feel for how much more torque the FA24 engine has over the FA20 in my current BRZ. By all accounts, it's much better than the older engine so any thoughts of supercharging are on hold until I get a proper feel for it.

Oh, and I spent two hours last night searching for a small £20 plastic grill bracket and front badge. It took a while to find the part number but then I came across so many US vendors that wouldn't sell it to me, either allowing only a US shipping address or stating that international shipping costs had risen and I had to "add another $999,000 to my order" before they would ship. More than one stated the same thing. They clearly couldn't care less about the rest of the world. I finally found a Japanese vendor who would ship me the bracket and badge, a nice parts company called Impex Japan. What a great company! en.impex-jp.com/

I've decided that buying a Tesla won't be an option in the future. I got a taxi in Germany which was a Tesla and it gave me the motion sickness I used to get from Mercedes and BMW taxis I had to take in years gone buy. I often find the ride in these cars almost too smooth and unconnected to the road - my stomach got left behind when the Tesla driver did some crazy quick acceleration round an underpass ...
