Aberlour are generally most reliable with the exception of the recent batches of A'Bunadh, which have been so rough you could use it as a very expensive oven cleaner.

I’m considering buying a Springbank 15 as I like the 12 so much...there are a still a few bottles of the last batch available, has anyone here compared the 12 and 15.

Good call, it should be an even bigger uplift from the 12.

Damn. Still 1/2 bottle of Glendronnach 12 to finish!! One in, one out for me. I can but admire your willpower Jules, I am a tad eclectic where whiskey is concerned and like to have a few open at any one time and dabble about. I thought it was high time that I treated myself (once again )

It's not too shabby Jules, I just wish they'd bottle it at 46%, it's held back IMO at 43. It is however a good value 18 year old at around 85 quid Slainte

Master of Malt had an offer on last week and I just had three bargains delivered;
Ardbeg Corryvreckan £52.90 Glengoyne 12 Year Old £37.39 Kilchoman Machir Bay £34.00
That's quite a bit cheaper than their normal price, free delivery too . . . . now which to start with first?

The Lasanta is nice, but my personal favourite is their Quinta Ruban; the *new* 14-year-old preferably, but the 12-year old is almost as good and a tad more intense. Port beats Sherry every time in my book, and both are good "Winter" whiskies. For Summer, or, God forbid, in a cocktail, Nectar d'Or is your man. To paraphrase: I don't know a lot about malts, but I know what I like, and that's Glenmorangie. I'd love to try bottles further up the range, but for someone who hardly drinks fifty-some-odd quid is my limit.
