Tonight I shall mostly be drinking Flor de Caña rum.

I’m now really enjoying the Lasanta. You really have to try it for 35 quid ...
Honeyed and delicately floral on the palate, with a whiff of smoke and peat on the long, spicy sherried finish.
Perfect Xmas dram ...

Bugger! That Lasanta is not only Prime members only, it's also out of stock. You should sample Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or and Quinta Ruban, Jules.

I just got this for a (late) Christmas present from my son. I had mentioned how much I liked Ben Nevis blended and he got me the single malt. It's wonderfully smooth!

Nice one Martin. I picked up a bottle of Cardhu Gold today. I don't have particularly high expectations as it's only 40% and no age statement, but for £25 at Waitrose I thought it was worth a punt ...

I like Cardhu but not sure I've tried the Gold Reserve.

I am currently adulterating a glass of Grants with some ginger wine. I just fancied a whisky-mac; I haven't had one in a donkey's age and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Adulteration is probably the best thing you can do with Grants! I often use it for macs too. And whisky sours

I use Glenfiddich for mixing, it's not a single malt I enjoy on its own.

You have to try the Ben Nevis sometime. It's so incredibly smooth that the only danger is wanting more!

This is the problem when you get a really good bottle - it just goes too quickly ...
I'm still missing having a 17yo Ballantines in the house. Sadly they reduced the strength from 43 to 40% recently - caused a bit of an uproar amongst the regular buyers!
