I like all of them, the Glenfarcals, Springbank, Amrut and Aberlour are all lovely and reasonable value. Johhny Walker Double Black is a very reasonable 'working' (Commnly drunk) whisky.

I used to love whisky with ice in it. Now I hate it; it feels like a constant race against the ice melting and watering down the flavour. The nearer to the end you get, the faster you have to drink it to avoid the flavour getting eradicated.
I avoid water as well. Someone else already said it in here, it's not to be macho, but I genuinely prefer most whisky this way. I'm sure there are times I probably would have benefitted from having it.
