I'm buggered if I'm going to give an album extra points because somebody else likes it! But, as I said in the other thread, I don't believe there is a wrong answer to the way each person chooses to vote.

However, I thought you were inferring that, because everyone on the Hoffman forum likes it, it should somehow be of more merit to me and others who violently dislike it.

I was more concerned with the extreme rating criteria used on these album threads which is why I suggested it was better discussed on your rating thread. My point is if something you dislike is a 1 then it follows there has to be a lower rating for something that is truly without any merit or barely listenable. That would be a lot of Rap in my case. I think Martin's rating is pretty fair for something that isn't to taste and that is where I would pitch this if I didn't like it.

I prefer most rap to this album.
My rating is 1/10 because I don't like this album in any way, like others I struggled through the album and then turned it off and wouldn't listen to it again through choice. I am also disappointed as I have said before as both of these artists are traditionally high standard song and music writers and this to me a complete cop out as it is that bad.

I think Martin's rating is pretty fair for something that isn't to taste and that is where I would pitch this if I didn't like it. Martin said that there were a couple of good songs on it. I disagree. I don't think there are any good songs on it. I suspect Martin doesn't have a problem with that. |
