That's where we're different then, as I quite like a lot of Britney Spears and would place it around 3-7 dependant on which album.
Everyone is allowed their own views, for instance I'm not a fan of early Genesis, but I know usually it's the other way around. That doesn't make my choice wrong.

I very much like the eponymous album. And Rumours. Didn't really like Tusk. Tango was OK. This latest thing doesn't get close ...... It's shite! 1/10 is rating it too highly!
This is what i mean by being ridiculous and non objective. If I don't like an album and it has at least competent musical performance and sound I give it a 4 or 5. Reserve 1 for Brittany Spears' worst efforts! There might be a least one decent tune on the album, but the dross stopped me from listening to it all the way through, so I won't know, and I don't particularly want to listen to the rest because the tracks that I heard weren't up to snuff. What I heard was one step above elevator music, and the only reason it was a step above it because I had the ability to turn it off. This record is nothing more than going through the motions to top up the bank balance.

Am I liking this more because I bought the vinyl LP? Apparently all digital versions are DR6 according to a Hoffman Forum posting! That would make it bland to listen to. I will give Spotify a listen but my views are already formed. I can't see how a rating can be given if you are not prepared to listen to the whole thing (just 3 or 4 tracks). Strangely one of the weakest tracks is the new single, thought the first single was great so had no hesitation in pre-ordering the vinyl.

I have the Buckingham/Nicks album (the s/t album) on vinyl and think very highly of it. I'm playing this now, haven't got to the end of it but I'm really not sure. The single In My World really isn't doing it for me. However, I got to the end of the album and Carnival Begin is much, much more like it. I shall need to listen to it again before voting. As well as Carnival Begin there's the rather nice Game of Pretend. McVie at her best. The rest is pretty much filler. 4/10

I think the material being bland has more of influence in it being bland to listen to. Having listened to it again, even the vinyl is compressed to the extent that it is a 'loud' mastering with obvious limits to DR. I still think musically it is fine and there are several top tunes. Enough for me to rate it at least 7 even if the mastering / recording is an issue. Not as wearing on the ears as the Sgt Pepper remix.

I played it last night and thought it was pretty dreadful. There's a good bit of lyrical banality and then there's the old "When you run out of words just go 'la-la-la' for a bit" routine! Would I want to go to a gig to see these songs being performed? No, not a chance. Would I play this again? Not in this lifetime.
Musical wallpaper, as far as I'm concerned.
I join the 1 out of 10 club.

I have the ‘big four’ FB albums and I love ‘em but sadly there is no great spark to this record - all very middle of the road, 4/10. They saved the best song till last - 'Carnival Begin'.
It all feels very lazy - with the talent they have I bet they can knock up an album of songs like these in a matter of days …

Technically speaking, 1/10 could be the correct score ... 10 tracks on the album, of which only one is really worthwhile!

The single is very middle of the road, lala along. If it's on Spotify I might have a through it to verify what you guys have written..

1/10 for me too, people with their level of talent shouldn't make this type of nonsense, it's embarrassing!

FFS. Are some people listening to a different record. This is getting pretty universal approval on Hoffman Forum so I am not alone in liking it. Played side 2 again last night and sounds even better. Perhaps hearing it on vinyl makes the difference.

Drivel will always be drivel. It wouldn't matter a bit whether it's played on CD, vinyl, Spotify or by the actual band in my living room.

For me the sound quality has little to do with me not liking it, basically the music does not grab me I have quite a few records that sound poor through a good system but I can still enjoy them as I enjoy the songs

Yeah sorry Paul, with Chris and John on this one... I am sure this album would sound atrocious on whatever format it was played.
