I added 2 AMR fuses to the power leads going to the Temple Audio Supercharers. It gives a bit more depth and resolution at not crazy money in my system. How can a fuse possibly make any difference to sound quality really I don't get this tomfoolery at all Agreed 100%

It is easy to become deluded This is very true especially where valves are concerned, but fuses surely not?

Transducers I believe in.

I can believe you can make a fuse degrade sound given slow blow types or tarnished connections. More than that, I prefer not to say.

All fuses degrade the sound, some less than others.

So, have you ever tried no fuses?

Yes, but I'm being circumspect about it because of safety 'police'. All I have done is leave one fuse in circuit and replaced chassis fuses with solid links where they are in series with the already existing plug fuse. I've compared SQ and prefer it that way.

A couple of very small changes and the first was free Had some spare isolation feet so took the black Ravioli pads away from the grounding box and used the feel then added the pads underneath the Temple monos A bit more weight I got the new IFi USB silencer and added to Tinkerboard nothing special Then put usb cable and to the reclocker and increase in depth and tonal richness Really good now with Violin and Saxophone It is not night and day but pushes the system where I wanted it to head.

I made a few more system changes I upgraded to an RTZ 2 as got a good deal. This works well in my system. The next change was inspired by my friend Vic. He tried both the 3-inch and 4-inch Faital Pro drivers. Keeping to the 4-inch as they can play louder. So after a few WhatsApp conversations, I decided to try them as it is quite easy to change drivers in my set up. They are less sensitive compared to the PRV and Beyma drivers. They also go up a bit more in the treble range and a bit lower down in the bass region. The price for the 3-inch is a whopping £10 per driver. Due to the different sensitivity, it took a while to figure out how much to cut back on the bass volume. I have not adjusted the upper bass/lower mid cut off on the Selenium drivers. The changes include more space to hear what the instruments are doing. There are a naturalness and ease that makes listening easy. I find I am now doing extended listening sessions and it is hard to drag myself away. These drives are certainly shifting more air and if the music demands it you can hear and feel the impact. However, it is also more seductive to my ears due to its effortless performance. An unexpected upgrade and if you do not mind the radical looks a really a cost-effective way of getting better performance.

I am also reflecting a lot of just how radical the system has become. I totally get that people cannot believe it sounds good or dislike the looks. I have learnt that people will find lots of reasons why something will not work and I certainly get the approach is just to weird.

Just as well you are an equal opportunities driver establishment

I have been playing around with my bass xo settings on the Behringer. I am now high cutting off around 315hz with 24db slope.
I am reflecting on the sound I have now compared to a year ago. I remember describing my music on the cold side of neutral. That has changed to a deep warm sound but no sense of it being mushy. It has been a slow, gradual change. New amplifier and DAC helped, Then adding a grounding box to the DAC helped a lot. Finally, some new drivers and readjusting the xo settings has got it to where I am now.
I think both Jules and Martin would be surprised by how much it has changed.

To be fair John, the last time I heard the system with the new Temples it was already sounding damn good!
