I've recorded it, can zip past any annoying bits. I could NOT watch the other old TG lot on prime though. Nothing new there, move along. I fear this will be the same.. The need to evolve.
Edited to NOT watch Clarkson and gang!

I still haven't seen any of the Amazon series - did anyone stay with it till the end?
I think I can now get Amazon video through my son's xbox so might check it out...

I stayed with it, but found a lot of the humour very predictable. Having the same jokes in each epsiode does not make great viewing. Not sure if I bother with the second series

As above really. I ended up really liking the programme as to me it got back to being a programme that focused on cars, finally. And yes very pleased that Evans has gone. He just wasn't the correct man for the job. As for GT, I have totally, totally lost patience with the three complete knobs.

Hmm, I thought the original BBC version headed by Clarkson was getting stale. The new version with Ginger Evans was no improvement if not even worse. Everyone comments negatively on Evans, but I also found Matt Leblanc equally uninteresting.
I tried the Amazon version for three episodes and gave up. So dated and so staged boring material which actually was not in any way funny at all.
I will try the BBC second series but doubt there will be any improvement, basically because I think Matt L is a total looser in this environment. He's a boring Yank, FGS. It simply won't work without a Brit lead in my expectation.

Interesting, I watched the whole first season of The Grand Tour on Amazon and thought it got better and better throughout. I thought that had a lot to do with their increased artististic freedom.
Top Gear on the other hand was a complete let down and I thought that was more related to the fact the writers used the same format and jokes as with Clarkson and co but with a bunch of people that hardly knew one another. The ginger moron just over emphasised how bad it was.

There is room for someone else to replace both of these......

It won't be Fifth Gear, although that had some promise. A bit too Which? consumer oriented (i.e. no passion for cars) for my liking.

Well, I gave it another go. It was like watching your favourite football team when they've got a big mid-week European night coming up so they give the reserves a run out on the Saturday. Rory was replacing Hammond, Chris was replacing May, and then there was Matt, who wasn't replacing Clarkson. There wasn't a proper world-class striker on the pitch unfortunately. It wasn't bad, but I didn't think it was good either. There was a lot of swearing though, which was less than impressive.

Agree They need to move it on somehow and not try to be the same but doubt that will happen

The problem that the BBC has is that the new Top Gear isn't what they would call 'appointment to watch' TV.
If it was on, and I had nothing better to do, I would watch it but I wouldn't exactly be distressed about missing any of it!
