I have decided to push the sound quality of my new server even further
I have 3 main tweaks I consider worth trying out
1) Better power supply
2) Good isolation
3) A USB Reclocker
So far I expermented with a Lithium battery for the power suppply
I played around with a few different feet
I also have used the IFI Purifier and Audioquest Jitterbug
Next week I should get a linear power supply I ordered from HDPLEX
The Jitterbug and IFI purifier are bein used together feeding the USB lead and IFI purifier connecting to the USB input on the NAD. Its a noticeable increase in SQ one that although not in the same league as the others makes a noticeable difference
The cheapest upgrade has been the Something Solid Dissipating feet decoaudio.com/pictures/ebay/ssolid/something_solid_diss_feet_std1.jpg This has been quite a nice revelation and a great no brainer upgrade to PC Transport and a big suprise as was not really expecting to hear much of a difference. The carbon should be placed on the shelf with the unit sitting on the wood/ Improves detail and soundstage.
I have also played around with a Lithium battery charger that does 12v. 16v and 19v. It has a major flaw in that the PC uses the charge very quickly so not a ideal choice. I have added a few snap-chokes and no longer have any issues in sound quality that I was having before.
My next step is the new linear power supply and then at some point to try a reclocker for the USB
I am currently using BugHead 8.05
I will update this over the next few months
