Better get it running. Report back after 125 hours of break-in! Quite, takes me a while to. Clock up 125 hours during the Summer months....Doh what am I saying...14deg and drizzling here.

A week ago I blew an SR Red fuse while reconnecting my power amp. Annoying but I found one of my old Hi-Fi Tuning Supreme fuses and substituted that instead. The amp was slightly down on its best performance so I ordered a replacement SR Red. Put that in tonight and I could hear the improvement immediately. It's back to the performance I'm used to. Yep, they really do make a difference.

I looked for small tweaks on my system two years ago, due to limited funds (in reality needed to upgrade my Quad 11Ls, bought in 2004). Spent lots of time reading reviews and blogs.
Ended up with: Akiko Triple AC Power Enhancer Ground control spades SR Quantum Black fuse.
The most noticeable was the fuse replacement. Money very well spent.

Where do you use the Black fuse Brett? The SR Black is in my Perreaux R200i amp. Now looking for an SR Red for when my Caiman SEG Dac arrives

I would certainly be interested in trying one with my pre or power amp but not something I feel confident doing by myself.

If you do decide to use the SR fuses, make sure to add them one at a time and check you’re happy with the sound; if not, power everything down and turn it around - seriously, it makes a worthwhile difference.
I bought five blue fuses and thank god fitted them one a time. It was a pita but I wouldn’t have been able to isolate the problem orientations if I hadn’t. EG the first I fitted was in the mains conditioner, it didn’t sound great, so had to unplug everything and turn it. Sounded lovely afterwards and saved potential huge frustration.

Just to add: SR Reds are great general purpose upgrades. Only go to a Blue for overall system fuses. Avoid Blacks altogether as they're too temperamental.

Just bought an SR Red fuse to go with my SEG Caiman, when it arrives. £60 well spent...

And back on track...As I was swapping out the SR Blue on the current rail of my ARC Ref10 for an AM Beeswax Ultimate I thought that I might as well take a happy snap at the time, Mighty Blingy box LoL. I want to get Beesmax Ultimate or SR Blue fuse for my Arc pre Ref10 too, Which one do you think is better sounding with Ref10? I want another two for my Arc 75se poweramp and cd9, I hesitate between AM and SR

To be honest I do not think that a question none of us can answer for you My advice is to speak to a good dealer and ensure you get on a 30-day trial to figure out what works for you
