How does the fuse make a difference Martin? What can the fuse affect.? Would no fuse be as good as an audiophile fuse?

How does the fuse make a difference Martin? What can the fuse affect.? Would no fuse be as good as an audiophile fuse? Quite! Don't 'European' make mains leads made without an integrated fuse? If so are there any reports of 'theirs' sounding better than 'ours'?

Not an opinion, so I can air it can't I?, but this thread gave me a right good laugh (first time I looked at it today), which was needed on a very rainy morning when I want to go out for a long walk. Does/can a fuse make a difference - to be honest it bothers me not. Life really is too short, on that I agree

Living in France, with no fuses in my plugs my system should sound awesome. However, I am slightly annoyed that I can't try these little boxes of magic to see if they can make a difference.
As mentioned, life is too short to even worry about the effect they could have on the sound. If people have bought them and are happy with them, then good for them.

Luckily there are spots for fuses in the back panel and sometimes even inside.
Intriguing little widgets, another thing to put on the list of things to play with one day.

And before anyone gets upset that doesn't know me, I'm laughing at myself as well as blokes in general that obsess over things that don't really matter. Women must think we're stark raving bonkers (speaking as a bloke who obsesses over things).
I think they are right.

For those who don't read back far enough... Just try the damned things and listen for yourself. That applies to any component. I'm using £60 SR Red fuses throughout. Are they better than no fuse at all? Of course not! Are they better than standard fuses? Yes, they sound better. Are they worth the money? Only you can decide. For me, yes they are. QED

Women must think we're stark raving bonkers At least we are passionate. Some women I have known have no hobby, pursuit or passion at all. So mundane

Quite how a functioning fuse, that sits before a transformer, rectifiers, smoothing caps and whatever local regulation exists as well as the inherent noise rejection of the circuit could affect the sound is beyond me. Sorry, but see my statement above about opinions based on no expeience. Don't try and fathom it, just listen to one compared with a standard fuse. Whatever you find, report it back to us. I refer the gent to my comment re no fuses. Are you of the belief that they sound better than no fuse.

Hmmm, getting passionate about things that matter is an admirable trait, passionate about fuses (or Hi-Fi), not so much.

LOL - it's quite amusing that some of us have been relating our experiences with fuses and that's all fine - even negative experiences are welcome.
However, the objectivists are stamping their feet and saying it can't possibly be. My response: try one and see. There are enough of us that have heard the effects to surely give pause to anyone expressing an opinion without said experience, but it doesn't seem to stop them!
