Little home studio there Slinger. Ive not that long ago sold a Roland 'A49' with 'JX-3', 'JP-08' & 'JU-06' Synth sound modules. I even gave the buyer a Novation 'Mininova' for nothing

I forgot to mention, my remote turned up yesterday and it works fine. The daft thing is, the way I have my remote positioned I find that the smaller one is actually slightly preferable. Ha ! I have one working, one not. Have reseated battery. Will try another

Me no comprendo - what do you mean about positioning?? It was a bit obtuse, wasn't it? I've got the Q5 sitting on a shelf, in front of the computer monitor and the smaller, metal, remote sits nicely in front of it, as below. The new, larger, remote doesn't fit as well. I totally understand Paul, that is nothing short of a calamity - I suggest you pop it in the post to me and I'll see if it fits on my coffee table ...

I even gave the buyer a Novation 'Mininova' for nothing Apart from my guitars and basses all of my instruments are 'virtual' ones. Just out of shot is the Line6 Spider V 60w amp, being controlled from that iPad Mini on the far left.

Nice try, Jules. I assumed you'd ordered one of your own as it was you who pointed them out.

I had a few Arturia Virtual Synth programmes for the SCI 'Prophet Five', Oberheim 'SEM' & Moog 'Modular'.. Sold the lot because i need a real instrument.
I want to build a Moog Modular out of Synthesizer dot come Modules. Analogue Synths are way way more fun than Hi-Fi could ever be
& ofc i would sell my soul for an original Mellotron, Preferably the 'M400'

No I hadn't got round to it as mine had decided to work for a while and they appeared to have hundreds in stock on aliexpress, so I didn't rush. Funnily enough, it's now available on Amazon only a pound or so more expensive than from China, with free delivery on Prime - www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B076Q4SSJ9/?coliid=I3RSPQEH5R1XWZ&colid=1D4RDHBMPR8FN&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Mine actually cost £6.26 from China. What do you think of it now after a couple of days ? It's currently stashed away as a 'spare' against the original remote going wrong, Mike. I seem to have been luckier than you and Jules in so much as mine has worked fine from day one. That has, obviously, put the ' kiss of death' on my remote and I am now expecting it to catch fire quite soon.

I was using mine today. Nothing much wrong with its ergonomics and it looks gorgeous.

I'm going to get a new platter mat - just fancy a cosmetic change ...
Am thinking about an acrylic mat - not expecting any great changes to sound but anyone got any experience with such a product?
I like the fact that it will be very easy to remove dust .

I had acrylic platter on one tt. It had a very characteristic sound - a kind of boingy colouration. Happily, damping rings were available to solve that very problem, which also went to show that it was a resonance from the acrylic platter. Mats are probably similar. Fine if you like a boingy sound, but otherwise maybe not. But that was just one experience, maybe not all acrylic items boing along with the music?

Cheers J - don't think that should be a problem for me as my platter is very heavy phosphor bronze and doesn't ring at all ...

I came across something today that I've never heard before - at the very end of an lp I was listening to, there was about a second or so of very loud distortion! Nothing visible in the vinyl, no flaw ... What could that be?

It sounds like it might be nothing more than a bit of fluff on your needle, Jules.
