I've used some Christmas Amazon vouchers to order an Audioquest Cinnamon USB to microUSB 0.75m cable to power the Asus from the QP-1, replacing the JuiceBitz cable in that position. That makes all of my digital cables come from the Audioquest stable. You'll get over it chief. LOL

No need - the Audioquest Carbons I am using (USB & AES) are superb so the Cinnamon USB was a natural choice for carrying power to the streamer.

LOL, c'mon Martin, ditch that cheap tat and buy some proper cables - yours didn't cost nearly enough to be any good ...

Let's get this sorted, shall we? I'll lay down a challenge. A 0.75m Audioquest Carbon USB costs around £120 and for that, in my opinion, it offers outstanding sound quality.
If you have something better, and are prepared to put your challenger to the test, send it to me and I'll make a direct comparison. I have no stake and will give an honest review. I will tell it exactly as I hear it. Don't bother sending me a £1,000 cable - I want something real that members (and I) can afford.

I have high hopes for the WireWorld Starlight 7 USB cables, Martin. I used their 75Ω co-ax cable between streamer and DAC previously and was more than happy. They work out slightly cheaper than the AQs and have the advantage (to me at least) of being available in shorter lengths.

I've not heard the Carbon so don't have the same point of reference. But if I dig up anything interesting that trounces the JuiceEBitz, I will let you know! Thing is, most of us could spend 1000 quid on a USB cable if we really wanted to, but we choose not to for different reasons I guess.

The Carbon USB is, like all components, a price/performance compromise. I use one because I've had previous experience with Audioquest and it's a decent, but not exorbitant, price for what I consider is not a bottleneck in my system, i.e. it does the job very well indeed. As does the Carbon AES I'm using, too.

I sold that, Brett, as I'm not using a co-ax link any more. Best co-ax cable I ever used.

Yes, Jerry. That's because I have yet to hear an inexpensive power cable that does the job properly. The No.77 is quite well priced compared with the Coherent BD powering my P10!
However, a 0.75m USB cable is different. The £12 Chinese 'Nordost' shows what can be done inexpensively and the £120 Audioquest Carbon is truly excellent. Also, I didn't want someone presenting me with a £1000 USB cable which is slightly better - that wasn't the point of the challenge.
To the uninitiated, my system might look oddly uneven. A £150 Asus streamer at one end and £20k Usher speakers at the other? However, as you also know, it's actually a good balance of performance across every component. I never did subscribe to the £12k Linn Sondek at one end, a nasty shouty amplifier in the middle and a pair of small tat speakers the other end. Not my idea of a balanced system at all.

The Audioquest Cinnamon USB-microUSB cable arrived today. I put it in place between the QP-1 PSU and Asus streamer after listening first to a bit of Yello. The differences, if any, between it and the JuiceBitz are minute. I think I detect a bit less sibilance but that's about it. It's only carrying DC, not signal.
I'll leave it to burn in.

The Cinnamon has been running for 24 hours and I can hear more easily that it's showing its class. As well as a reduction in sibilance, there is a more natural quality to ride cymbals. Listening to Dire Straits' Once Upon a Time in the West, the attack on Knopfler's guitar is extraordinary. Yep, I put my Amazon gift vouchers to good use
