A proper managed leased line is needed when you have upwards of 300 people hammering the line simultaneously, opening and saving documents, watching video etc. Now that I have the approval to get the leased line uprated, I am starting to worry about our Smoothwall firewall & content filter.

Let's say 150 of the above users are accessing secure sites (most websites these days). That's 150 decrypt/inspect for safeguarding/recrypt operations in real time through the server in both directions. Good thing it has 24 Xeon cores and 128GB RAM.
