Hello all,
Thought I'd join up to show support to the new forum! I emigrated from both England and the AOS board; fresh starts and all that.
Looks good Martin, are you running this ship?
I've been in a state of limbo since May, I had to pack up the system and am still without it (should be delivered in two weeks). Nexus 7 audio is the best I've had in the interim
Anyone else from down under here?

Hello Martin, yes, three of us started this forum less than three weeks ago! Welcome to TAS, you're likely our most distant member right now Bet you can't wait to unpack the system!

Hi Martin, tbh its a real mixture of excitement and fear. I packed things well and its fully insured but it was scary seeing it all go into the back of a lorry lol!
Hi Mike - you mean the forums not been officially launched yet or..?

We made it yes Only thing that sucks is still being unemployed (working in that, no pun intended). Do you have anywhere in particular that interests you? We chose Perth because we were tired of the 'London' lifestyle, we didn't want to move to another big city. Its beautiful around here! I have killed one red back (cousin of the black widow) so far...

I have a good friend who lives in Perth. Lovely city, although I like Sydney the most as it's such a fab place with so much to see and do.
I went to school in Melbourne for a while. Went there by ship and came back later that year, so I've been round the world by scheduled service. You'd have difficulty doing that any more!

Hi Mike - you mean the forums not been officially launched yet or..? Yes. None of us are really here. This is all in your imagination We decloak Saturday. Will certainly overshadow the start of the Tour de France so they may have to delay that for a day .......

Congratulations on the move Martin, wouldn't mind a fresh start myself! Certainly tired of London, so can totally appreciate where you are coming from there ... Hope you don't mind me asking, but I'm intrigued how you can emigrate there without having work lined up - I thought that was a pre-requisite in Oz? Best of luck with it all.

The most exciting thing I would imagine is getting those speakers further apart than when you lived in London Get your priorities right of course! If your lass is earning a crust there is always ebay australia to flog some tat on? There must be markets and 2nd hand stores in Perth cobber surely? Buy it cheap and flog it on! Until something better comes along.

Hi Martin, Welcome to TAS from me too - it's fantastic that you found us. It's also great that you're settling in over there. My sister lived in Perth for a bit and I'm rather jealous of you.
Cheers Chris

Jules - you're right it is a prerequisite, luckily my girl is amazing and got a 457 visa with a great company, which means I can come over for the length of the visa ☺
Dave - not a bad idea as it goes!
Hi Chris - I'm glad to be aboard and heartened to see the healthy initial growth of the place, long may it continue?

Cheers dudes.
I'm pretty worried about the sound of this place, its got a pretty wacky layout compared to my last, so it'll either sound food or take a lot of work. I'll have to measure tomorrow and see.
I've missed having access to my music a great deal.

Martin - do some finger snapping tests in the empty room, try and get a handle on the flutter echo. The when you furnish it, you can do it again and hear the changes. If there is still flutter echo, you need to go down the route of further soft furnishings or room treatment.
