I'm thinking of crowd-funding a campaign to have the month that falls between April and June next year renamed "Corbyn" to avoid what I consider to be unnecessary political bias.

While living in Tennessee I was speaking to a class mate about flying home to the UK and he asked me why didn't I drive instead, man it was so hard to keep a striate face in the same class I had a dude ask me what language they spoke in the uk.
You just can't make this stuff up.

Yep, I've had the same things asked of me in Ancram, small-town New York. Also "is Scotland in England". Their level of ignorance is incredible. I love the question asked of Hugh Laurie when playing House, "how did you manage to lose your accent?" Priceless! |

I like to say to people from the US that they should take care of our language and not abuse it because they are only borrowing it until the day they all start speaking Spanish.

I read something about the trials that Volvo are doing with driverless vehicles. They have a 'Large Animal Detection system' fitted, presumably because a lot of Swedes get killed by driving into Moose. Anyway, this system works just tickety-boo. Except in Australia.
Kangaroos are the problem. The system can't work out how far away a hopping roo is - when it's in the air, it looks further away and on the ground, nearer.
It made me laugh anyway!
Kangaroos cause more road accidents than any other animal in Australia, responsible for about 90 per cent of collisions between vehicles and animals.

Walking the dogs as I do every morning.
One on a lead, the rest go their own way...
Coming across a wooded field I see Bailey, terrier/something cross, "the brown streak", going flat out up the field on another path.
Going so fast he looked like a cartoon. Oblivious to me.

Bailey, the brown steak disappeared for a while this morning.
Called him a few times, looked around. Not to be seen or heard.
Going past the front door later I saw he was outside.
Opened door and got him in.
Just in time for the morning walk.
Opened the side door and he was off again at supersonic speeds.
What a dog

He usually doesn't go for long. With the lack of squirrels currently perhaps he sees his job as complete
