Glad to say it did. Remembered when I started that the engine can sometimes fade after starting so hoping I would start with vapour - on a slope, keep the engine going and not ram Speedysteve's motor Left with. 22 miles left on display. Up to 36 before I put in petrol. Technology 2 motorbikes came past me on the way at what must have been well over the ton, then parked up after the roundabout. Not clever Good journey recommended and my choice for the future. Nice empty Hants countryside

I tend to avoid motorways whenever possible, as once everything comes to a stop, there is nowhere to go! At least with other roads, you have the choice to turn around or navigate to an alternative route. There is nothing more soul-destroying than being stuck in traffic on a motorway for over an hour!

The world’s most popular file sharing website, Zippyshare, have announced that they will be offering users vinyl downloads for 3D printers early next year. Surely even the best 3D printer doesn't have the resolution required? It'll be as noisy as hell, I predict. Zippyshare, so popular I've never heard of it!

"a hipster's wet dream".
Thank goodness I've never been fashionable. What a waste of good energy!

We all face the problem of being accidentally fashionable Vinyl is one area which almost all of us are guilty Certain items of hifi and 'hifi' are definitely hipster The Tour de France on ITV4 is sponsored by a second hand watch company. Puzzled I was. Then I noticed the guy doesn't ride the bike well, has a fashion victim beard and likely a *very* expensive, albeit 2nd hand watch. Hipsters are getting into cycling - golf dropping in popularity with the leavers going into cycling Help !

Yes, the vinyl scene is not what it was what with all these 'hipsters' buying them up and . . . err . . . not playing them.

Andrea Leadsom, the leader of the House of Commons, referring to Jane Austen as "one of our greatest living authors".

Laugh or cry.
Clarification Are you confused by what is going on in the Middle East? Let me explain. We support the Iraqi government in the fight against Islamic State (IS). We don't like IS, but IS is supported by Saudi Arabia, whom we do like. We don't like President Assad in Syria. We support the fight against him, but not IS, which is also fighting against him. We don't like Iran, but Iran supports the Iraqi government against IS. So, some of our friends support our enemies and some of our enemies are supporting our friends, and some of our enemies are fighting against our other enemies, whom we want to lose, but we don't want our enemies who are fighting our enemies to win. If the people we want to defeat are defeated, they might be replaced by people we like even less. All of this was started by our invading a country to drive out terrorists who weren't actually there until we went in to drive them out. Do you understand, now?
