Just recently I have had an unwanted (and annoying) icon appear on my Lenovo T540p laptop screen. At first it would go away if I re-booted, but now it wont. It's a black square, with a white upward pointing arrow with the figure 1 in the middle. Clicking on it has no effect (left or right) and I can't seem to move it to a less conspicuous position. Any idea what it is, and how to remove it ? It's an on-screen notification that your num-lock is on. This explains how to disable it - support.lenovo.com/gb/en/solutions/ht002122Google is your friend.

Thanks guys, now I understand what it is I can cope with it.
Actually, the advanced properties I need to disable it were "removed" in the creators update, go figure.

Missing feature in Outlook ?
In the past, if I had a suspicious Email in Outlook, I could right click on the message, select "message source", and see who the true sender of the message was without opening the message.
Quite useful.
I tried it today and the "message source" option is not listed.
Is there another way ?

Double-click to open the message and then go to the left-hand 'File' menu. It should give the source header info there.

Adobe Photoshop. Again.
Even though I use GIMP now, there was something I knew how to do more easily in Photoshop. So I opened the image with it. When I had cropped, resized and saved it, my machine went very slow. I wondered what was going on and looked in the folder containing the image. Photoshop had created 11,508 tmp files. Yes, really. I had to task manager kill Photoshop (if only) and then delete all the crap, which took about 15 minutes.
Only Adobe have programmers of this level of incompetence.

I've set up a digital camera in the kitchen, connected to my no 2 PC by USB cable, to see if it will identify if I still have mice, and if so where they are coming from. Is there a way of making the hard drive record as a movie, and if so what drive space would I likely need for eight hours of recording ? Or, perhaps a time lapse of (say) 5 seconds to reduce the hard drive space. The camera is a USB Logitech @ 720P Light levels may be a problem and I'll see how that goes tonight. If it's a problem would a low level light in the kitchen stop the mice coming out to play ? EDIT. Found this, might do the job ? skystudiopro.com/
