We have two sheds here, or more accurately, it's one outbuilding with two rooms - built beautifully with massive stone blocks and in keeping with the house. One is full of crap, the other is empty.

I've only been in it once! In my defence, we have a garage and shed in our house in Lincs that are both impossible to enter as they are stuffed to the rafters with crap.

I hate throwing things away so I have loads of stuff that I 'might need' I will have to get into selling, donating or binning Ebay, Freecycle and Streetlife The alternative is to build another couple of sheds !

I have a garage full of crap that I '' might '' need in the future. I'm going to be ruthless this year and throw the lot out . Honest

Get a skip, it's wonderfully liberating (as indeed they are on your wallet these days).

Get a skip, it's wonderfully liberating (as indeed they are on your wallet these days). Not for me. Has bad memories both on the refurb we had at home with our non logical builders and the purge at work where £1000s went to the dump. Appalling waste for both

We get three free council uplifts a year . The last time I got them I stated that I wanted 10 large pieces of wood uplifted. Without thinking I put out 13 instead . They came and picked up 10 and left 3 at the side of my house

An empty shed can fetch a lot of rent in London. You'll be surprised how many people can be crammed in one for the night. A couple of my neighbours appear to have such tenants...

Why Mike ? I remember years ago when I worked as a diesel mechanic . It took 3 people to change a starter . A panel beater to remove the panels surrounding the engine , an electrician to disconnect the starter , and then I removed the starter . I thought those days were over

It's the people Brian There's good and there's bad. Those days it was unions. Today we just need jobsworths
I am pleasantly surprised when good people help you out and I tell them I appreciate their help so the circle continues

Yep , understood Mike . I work for the NHS and there's always someone poking their nose in . I do like to go the extra mile , but not at the expense of my job I will complain when I feel that the service which I expect is poor , however I also let people know when the service meets , or exceeds , my expectations .

Ah the NHS. A fabulous organisation run by saints and arseholes. Don't think I'd be here without the NHS, certainly not without the drugs invented just before I popped up There was a series of 6 programmes called Sids Heroes, one in a big NHS hospital. Everyone there was doing the job for love not money This is all there is on YouTube My thing is W.Edwards Deming / Lean / Sid Joynson Very few people get it or give a shit - yet some people are part way there without knowing it Doesn't help when you are surrounded by non helpful people

Yup , there does seem to be '' personality '' extremes present here . However . I've met many many good people while working in the NHS . There are a few who I tend to distance myself from though .

I would not be alive but for the NHS, and especially Basingstoke Hospital. I owe them quite a debt of gratitude.

I think quite a lot of people are in the same boat Martin . I seem to rely more heavily on the NHS for my good health as I get older . I must admit that I've had no complaints regarding my ( or my familys ) treatment over the years .

I've had some poor thing happen. I can see it is the system at fault - or in the case of taking out my varicose veins a surgeon focussed on what he does not me. Waste of time BTW

The op was ok. I got myself as fit as I could, the pain killers did their work fine. I walked every day, easy enough with a load of dogs. Then bad veins and dry skin patches came back about 6 months later Waste of everyone's time and say what, about £1000 of cost to the NHS ?
