MODERATION NOTE: This post has been moved from a thread about turntables which will not be derailed by off-topic complaints about Richard's treatment at TAS.
This thread would have been of great interest to me - especially as it appears that Arthur is finally ready to do "project pimp PT" which he has been promising me for ages and putting off (understandably). It would be bloody tax return January when he decides to do it of course, but that's Arthur... (and he may yet get side-tracked, but we have made a lot of progress on paper)
However, I am not happy with the moderation on this forum, where I think parts of my post were deleted which break none of the forum rules I have printed on the desk in front of me, and which appear to censor a rational discussion of technical issues as technical issues, so I do not feel this is an environment where I am able to participate. However, I will be posting this story, and my thoughts and Arthurs about turntable design on at least 3 other forums, if anybody is interested.
It makes no sense to talk about Pink Triangle / Funk ideas of turntable design, if it is unacceptable to refer to the technology and physics that inspired it - or rather if inaccurate or misunderstood technical explanations are insisted upon by moderators. I know I am an accountant - which is why when I am not sure I check my facts with senior industry experts who know what they are talking about (albeit completely uninterested to get involved personally)
I also have an issue about whether the forum breaks its own rules about "no trade accounts" - and whether it would gag talk of Funk by one closely associated with it ( it takes seconds to start the cries of "shill"), when it is happy to promote other brands via members effectively on the payroll.
Anyway, how TAS is run is not my concern. Anyone interested in the Pink Triangle take on record player design can find my thoughts (and pretty obviously , not necessarily "all my own work") elsewhere.
