I still watch that race every now and again - fantastic finish to a season!
And the extremely wet Canadian race where Button gets Vettel on the last lap - fantastic race by Button, and proof he's a great racer when he's got the right car under him.

That was the most gut-wrenching engine failure yet for Hamilton after a thoroughly dominant weekend. Hard to understand or explain the number of failures, it just doesn't make sense.
Very pleased that Ricciardo won the Red Bull battle.

OK, who's still in denial about a conspiracy to deny Lewis the championship this year.

There are eight drivers in F1 who are using a Merc engine. Lewis is the only one who seems to have been allocated the dud ones.

Knowing little of F1 currently it does sound at least odd. Huge coincidences don't seem liklely Conspiracy seems likely

Gut-wrenching is exactly what I felt let alone Hamilton - unbelievable ! The win was as good as guaranteed. He did everything that could have been asked of him. Every time he fights back and gets the bit between his teeth, like we know he can - bang ! some kind of issue. Even with the bad starts, if it wasnt for the 'other' stuf happening to his car he'd be miles ahead. I'm a massive Hamilton fan but really dont want to get caught up in conspiracies. That said........ If I ever wanted him to win it this year you can times that by ten now. He deserves it for all his fight, time after time. It would be so sweet to see him do it, this time even more so than the other times. It's in Gods hands - watch this space !

Exactly my view, lets look at the positives, if he wins the next 4 races and Rosberg takes second in each, Hamilton will take the lead in the championship again with one race to go... I personally know he has it in him. Look how well he drove this whole weekend, he made Rosberg look the weak and very very inferior!

Compare Vettel's first corner lunge and it's consequences to Alonso's start - there's a video on C4 catchup; 10 places in 60 seconds. f1.channel4.com/video/alonso-amazing-moves/Great to see him finally start to get a tool he can work with and enjoy driving. His public face has been exemplary throughout the development pains and mechanical failures he's endured. Seb claimed Max was weaving about, but actually it was he that was zipping about like an angry fly. All rather irresponsible considering the pressure on Ferrari to perform at the moment and they had good pace and potential. The Renault fire was a strange affair. Couldn't believe they had that car cleaned up, repaired and back out on track at all, let alone so quickly. Kevin Magnussen must be dreading the third bit of bad luck, after that and the high speed crash in Belgium.

Nico was fastest in the first two practices this morning, so it will be interesting to see if he keeps this up.
I see that there is a possibility of rain for the race which might mix thing up a bit. When it rains in Suzuka it can be quite a downpour!

When it rains in Suzuka it can be quite a downpour! Don't think Hamilton was trying that hard to be honest, certainly he has said as much in the press that he is not going to be pushing it in practise as he doesn't want to burden the engines. If it is a wet race, Rosberg will be nowhere, he has shown on numerous occasions, Monaco and Britain 2016 to name but two that he cannot cope in the rain, whereas Lewis is usual sublime in the wet. Like you say though, should be an entertaining race!

Rosberg on pole, but Lewis was close, 0.013 of a second is nothing. The Ferrari's look to be working well, and I am surprised to see how well the Hass cars are going - just hope they don't have any more brake failures. I'm looking forward to this race early tomorrow morning.

The starts the bl@@dy starts !! He needs a miracle now. If he doesn't do it it will be down to starts of all things, even considering the mechanical gremlins. I'm really baffled as to why he's never got on top of the issue - baffled !

What a shame, as his subsequent overtakes and pace were excellent.

Well Lewis ballsed up the start once more, I just don't understand how a 3 times WC can make so many school boy errors. People will argue it's because the FIA banned the electronic gizmos at the start, but he's been racing in multiple lower formula before F1 and didn't have these problems, it's got to be something, how could he have forgotten how to start??

Maybe he was drawing bunny rabbit ears on a photo with his "Snapchat" app, or maybe he didn't want to participate in the start because the other drivers "disrespected" him in some way sorry, couldn't resist.

There has to be something about that Mercedes clutch. He was also on the dirty side, but others on that side did better.

Agreed, Riccardo mentioned he had some problems with the start, but didn't get anywhere near as bogged down as Hamilton. So looks like a Rosberg Championship... has to be said that if I were Lewis, I wouldn't want my team mate (who I consider inferior) to have a championship too On another note, what are peoples views on Hamilton's behaviour with the press this weekend?, I personally thought it was quite amusing and struggle to understand how it was disrespectful, although I am sure others will think otherwise which is ok

Bad starts nave always happened but there seems to be more of them nowadays and also the cars seem to lose more ground when it happens. I'm surprised it's not led to safety issues, because a slow car heading into the first corner is usually a big risk of a pile-up.
