I'm not disagreeing, but far bigger things have been kept under wraps in the past.

There are six cars with Merc engines on the grid. Hamilton has suffered more breakdowns on his engine than all the other five put together.

Interesting that the Williams is struggling despite having Mercedes power. It's certainly not all about the engine.

Rosberg grid penalty. Perhaps they threw that in to calm things down Vettel also grid penalty. Hammy just has to qualify in 3rd!

With the conditions it will all come down to timing the run just right for pole

Very exciting and interesting qualifying today, as Steve says, Hamilton showed his class, he was outstanding... Jenson Button weren't bad either, now starting on 3rd and comprehensively beating Alonso, which always cheers me up...
Hopefully this race will give Hamilton a chance to take a few more points away from Rosberg which he is going to dearly need later in the season with all the potential penalties he's going to face as a result of his engine issues throughout the start of the championship.
I still say Hamilton for the championship but who knows!

Button did very well indeed. This may give McLaren pause for thought.

Button did very well indeed. This may give McLaren pause for thought. Give him the car and of course we know what happens - same can be said for many of them though. Classy drive and as ever modest about it all I liked the "I won't get in Hamilton's way, as he's going for the championship" What with all the tennis and F1, eyes will be square again!

Exciting finish to that race! Brittle Rosberg makes mistakes in wheel to wheel stuff as usual and comes off worse. All good for the championship but I fear zee German's vill not be appy nine
Rosberg under investigation for a) causing a collision, b) failing to retire a car that cannot drive at competing speeds! Not sure of the regs on that one! Memories of Red 5 pushing car over the line and some others before him!
Wow, looking again Rosberg looks like he drove into Hamilton. Didn't let him back on either...
Stewards time.
Black clouds in the Mercedes garage.
Tossberg interview excuse laughable!
Holly?! Suzzie Perry where are you?
Stewards say 10 sec penalty and 2 points on race licence for cheating Rosberg. Not much for blatantly cheating IMH ex-racer opinion
Should have got no points and a race ban at least.
Rosberg = Schumacher in tactics more and more!
Can only wonder what his dad thinks!

Hamilton would have been sent to start the next race in the pit lane, lost his points for the race, and condemned by Wolff and Lauda in no uncertain way. But as Lewis said in his interview with C4, some of the things he heard in the garage after the race has made him start to think. Let's face it, he was ahead of Nico, but after changing tires he was about 20sec behind. How's that for a fast lap from the Finn?

This is the first time I've really seen the Mercedes bias for Rosberg and it makes for pretty unpleasant viewing.
Hamilton proved what a winner he is. Rosberg has not got what it takes to be world champion and has proven, once again, what a very bad loser he is.
Good decision by the stewards, but a shame the penalty wasn't harsher.

I think Hamilton should've waited until the following corner to attack. He should've just breezed up behind him (as he did), stick close and get a good exit from the corner and just take him on the straight - it was obvious Rosberg wasn't going to give that position up without a fight, despite having a wounded car.
Although, if Rosberg had a brake issue, he shouldn't be flying into a corner at that speed, and jeopardising team points.

Hamilton was running out of corners and saw the opportunity. You don't have to ask a natural racer twice...

Raikkonen signed for another year... That's dashed a few drivers' hopes.

Indeed, and I can't see Mercedes not re-signing Rosberg (much as I'd like to see them take Sainz). Still a question mark over Button and/or Alonso at McLaren.

Hamilton is one awesome talent ! The way he rises to pressure is amazing, another great pole. It would have been easy for his head to drop and to overcook it when his previous leading q3 lap was deleted. Not Mr Hamilton though, true to form leaving the British fans with a huge smile. Pray no shunt from start approaching turn 1 tomorrow.

Yes, Lewis has an alchemist talent for converting pressure into time. That must be quite a psychological tiger for Nico to keep tamed.
Yet again Max showed a mature ability to deliver the goods. Certainly not the reckless, inexperienced teenager that many considered didn't deserve a drive in F1. Seems Ricciardo has his own tiger to manage.

Hamilton's Silverstone lap record drive in Q2 was superb. Let's hope for no clutch problems at the start tomorrow.
